“My wife and I looked for a contractor to replace four windows, the wood siding and add insulation to the second floor of the front of our house. We wanted a quality job, we didn’t look for the cheapest contractor. The house is about 130 years old and nothing is level, plumb or square. Brian came to do the estimate. He listened to our concerns and gave us suggestions which we agreed to.Jason came before the work started to make sure all of the supplies were delivered. The windows were delayed so the project started a couple of weeks later than expected. Once the job started we were impressed by the workmanship, attention to major and minor details.The project took a couple of days longer than they estimated. I think this happened because of the age of our house and that everythings took longer to do than they expected. I worried that if this happened to another contractor they would cut corners to keep on schedule but they didn’t cut any corners. They cleaned everything up at the end of each day.We were taking a month-long trip and left before the job was completed. One of the many nice touches was that Jason sent us photos so we could see the completed project.We have two more sides of our house that we want the windows and siding replaced and ZIP System R-sheathing installed. We will be getting another estimate from Brian for these jobs.We highly recommend Brian Hommel based on our experience with them.“

“We bought a house whose main staircase was open on one side and needed a banister installed. It was a pretty weird setup, with a crawlspace between the floors to get around and a partial banister at the top. The owner, Gene, came by and took measurements, said no sweat about the eccentric curve that'd be needed for the rail at the top to get around the crawlspace, and gave us what felt like a fair estimate. He told me it'd be about five weeks before the woodwork was finished, and right around that time after the deposit was paid, it was ready for installation. The crew did the job and cleaned up well. We're thrilled with how the banister looks and works.As others have suggested, it can take a little effort to get on their roster. But they're busy because they're good and because there aren't a lot of places around that specialize in what they do. I had to be a little persistent to get the initial visit, and it was worth the trouble.“

“We had a new deck installed around our pool and house. Dwaine did an excellent job and helped save us money by using some existing material that was utilized for the decking. They are very thorough and had excellent communication with us throughout the entire process.“

“J & R really saved us! Out of the blue we stopped getting full water pressure throughout our entire house. We were having a lot of trouble finding someone to help us fix it - plumbers were telling us it was an issue with our service line, excavators were telling us it was an issue with our indoor plumbing. In the end we needed a new service line to the house along with some indoor plumbing work coming right off of that line. J & R did the service line and coordinated the indoor plumbing work so that we could get our water back on as quickly as possible. Not only did they do a flawless job but they were able to accommodate us QUICKLY. Some people we talked to were scheduling months out, some would only refer us to others who were too busy to help. And again, practically speaking we had no water. J & R put us on their schedule less than a week out and had the whole job done by the afternoon. Since they coordinated the plumbing work for us we didn't need to schedule a separate service call with someone which really simplified (and sped up) the process. Can't recommend them enough.“
