I really wanted to like this gym! I came back as a guest with my friend two weeks ago and at first I was amazed. At first glance, yes it looks cleaner. And less cluttered. I'll give them that. The front section of the gym looks nice! But that's where it ends. They got rid of their best treadmills! The Precor (and the star track) in the back row were thd best. They had great shock absorbency. These life fitness are garbage. It feels like you're running on broken steel planks. LOL. And they got rid of the hip abduction machines. The Hoist version * is terrible. They are both broken. The prior model was 100% better The locker rooms were ok, they were clean to an extent. But then I went in the pool and saw a dead WATER BUG. That is totally unacceptable. That is the third time I've seen one by the pool! Please get an exterminator (or a better one). And please adjust the lighting. The lighting in the pool room is horrendous! It's darker than a sleepy bar. When it's too dark bugs and critters will come out. They need to gut and clean the pool. And make it brighter. If you look at the photo of Massapequa's pool it is bright, and clean. You can see through the water. Any busy gym has bright colors and bright lighting. It definitely affects members' moods. And our motivation. Simple things that they NEED to fix. Don't waste your time. Not worry the $$.
If your looking for a gym with a great atmosphere, amenities and most importantly a very hard working general manager pete, you gotta check out xsport fitness in Garden City one of the only gyms of this caliber that is also open 24hrs a day! This gym is your spa with amazing trainers and programs to get you into the best shape of your life! Tell them peter karaisarides sent you they’ll give you a month on the house!
Look it’s a solid gym. 24/7 is what really has it going, especially on most holidays they’re still open. It has a sauna, steam room, swimming pool, and almost any machines you’re looking for. There’s even a play area for kids and a basketball court.It should be 4 stars at best.However the problem also show. The water fountain tastes like rust (at night) and it’s never cold. The weights are rarely reracked, the gym can get dirty easily. TV’s and some equipment is always broken. Parts of the gym are very and stink, even after the paint job they did recently along with switching up the layout didn’t do enough. And Don’t get me started on the men’s locker...read full review
