Schenectady Animal Hospital is a caring and knowledgeable veterinary clinic. The doctor is kind, friendly, and considerate, taking the time to advise on the best care for pets. With a gentle and conservative approach, the hospital provides a warm and welcoming environment. While prices may be a bit high, the personable service and expert care make it a recommended destination for pet owners.
I was very appreciative that Dr. Taksir was available on Sunday of a holiday weekend to first guide me by phone, then create an appointment within a few hours to see my cat. He was very upfront about costs and options I could pursue and allowed me time to think about it before making decisions. He and staff were kind and he did his best to assess my cat's issue (my cat is not cooperative). The office is a bit outdated but that was insignificant to the speed in which I was given an appointment and service (the other Albany Animal Hospitals open on Sunday had 10 hour waiting periods). I would recommend Dr. Taksir!
I went to another vet in the area for my cat a few weeks ago (ears bloody and full of wax). They wrongly diagnosed him, made me come back the next day because they couldn't control him, and they completely drained my wallet.
I went to this vet instead as the other vet did not treat my cat properly and his ears got worse. I had an amazing experience and definitely will not go back to the other vet. This vet was cheaper, correctly diagnosed and medicated my cat, cleaned and shaved his ears, and even cut his nails on the house. Not to mention, the vet was so funny and extremely friendly. Dr. Taksir is one in a million! He is caring and he listens with the mind of a doctor and the heart of a good human being. He does everything he can to help his patients and the families who love him.
