Came in for an ear ache. After a short wait at the window I was taken back and evaluated. Left with scripts waiting for me. One went to the wrong pharmacy but that is an easy mistake to make.
I'm writing today about the blood draw station at Ellis, it was probably the easiest, fastest, least traumatic blood draw of my life. Nurses and techs have found that it's easier to draw blood from the side of my wrist or top of my hand, which was a game changer for me thanks to a nurse I had long ago, but Kerry at Ellis upped the game, she tied hot packs to my hands to plump my veins and calm my nerves. I told her I had to recline, and requested a butterfly, and she told me to pinch part of my ear as an acupuncture technique to reduce stress. Kerry was in and out on the first try, I hardly noticed. Blood draws using a butterfly tend to be much slower, but thanks to her expertise, it was like nothing, and fast, and she knew to chat me up to get my mind away from the needle, and asked me about my life. If you're like me and have anxiety about needles and blood draws, discuss it first, don't be shy, and ask for these techniques. Drink copious amounts of water that morning, and if your tech or nurse is impatient and you feel uncomfortable, get out and go elsewhere. Blood draws don't have to be a nightmare. Hope Kerry sees this review.
Came here after being sent away by Well Now around the corner because they were closing in 50 mins. Ellis took us right in and was even here with my wife after closing hours. The staff was friendly and professional and the facility was spotless! Thank you to the staff who took care of my wife and gave her the medical attention she needed instead of shunning her away just to be out for the night on time.
