Marco just gave me the best haircut I have had in years! This was my first time @ this spot - I wanted to try something in the neighborhood, since I usually go all the way into the city on a day off to get a cut. I have been going to the same place in the village for years, but the quality of the cuts had gone down; I kept going for the loyalty, but at some point you have to get over that.Best decision I made on a really hot day. The place was clean, the air was on, and they did it all by appointment either through their website or by call.I will be back in a few weeks for the next cut, 100% - thanks guys, and thank you Marcos!!
My go to place for haircuts. All the barbers are pretty cool guys. Willy is a friendly owner, who greets me when I come in, even though I usually get a haircut from Jr. Bilingual (English and spanish).
I guess an up to date review is needed Contrary to the previous reviews on this website, I like this place. These type of barbershops are not meant to be a premium top of the line places. It's a neighborhood joint where friends/family of the barbers come to visit, hang, or obviously get a haircut. Anyone is allowed in. Now that you get the vibe, you can imagine that it's a mixture of loud music, various conversations, and the buzzing of clippers. If you're a walk-in, you'll have to reach out to a barber or wait till one of the barbers notices you awkwardly sitting down. That's how these type of barbershops work. Of course you can make appointments as well. Now for the actual experience. My barber was an older lady, however she only spoke Spanish. So, one of the workers helped translate what I wanted to her. It was a basically a tapered cut with an inch off the top and middle (I guess the crown area). Showing a picture definitely helped my barber of what type of haircut I wanted. It wasn't a difficult process and the language barrier wasn't detrimental. So off we went to my cut. My vision is very poor, so when I take off my glasses for a haircut I would not be able to look at the mirror clearly to check on my cut. A bunch of trust is given from here on out. So, my barber went on cutting. After the initial stage of using clippers, she proceeded to use scissors to get the job done. I have thick asian hair, which grown quite a bit over the past months, so it's kind of pain to deal with. However for most of the cut, she was using scissors to precisely get that blended look with tapered cuts. I could tell she was trying her best to get the look right and ensure there would be no mistakes. Every now and then she would make sure my face and the barber's gown was clean of hair. The last 10 minutes was spent on using the razor and dusting me off one last time. The result of the hour cut was satisfactory. I wasn't expecting some godly look, but I liked the end result. She was able to give me a tapered cut with regular barber scissors and clippers with precise movement and I was thoroughly impressed. It was $17, which is pretty good pricing to me and I proceeded to awkwardly thank her. It's a neat little place and I'll probably set an appointment in the upcoming weeks. TL;DR: Neighborhood barber shop. Minor language barrier didn't stop barber from giving me a good haircut. $17 tapered cut with tape up + mostly scissor treatment
