I used to come here for dry cleaning services because they offered good price and took good care of my clothes, until they lost my $300 beanie. I asked if they could help me contact the cleaners to check again for the beanie, as it was a handmade piece from England that I couldn’t replace. They refused and kept asking, ‘How much do you want?’ I repeatedly told them I just wanted them to look for the hat. When I mentioned that the hat had cost me $300, they said they wouldn't pay me anything over $50. It's such a huge disappointment in how they handled the situation. I called this morning to inquire about an alteration. When the call connected, a woman answered the phone and stated, “Hello, bueno dias.” I replied “Good morning” and proceeded to ask my question. I was rudely cut off to be told in English that I needed to speak in Spanish. I could not locate any information on their website that states that you must speak Spanish in order to be serviced, therefore if you are an native English speaker, please be advised that you must speak Spanish in order to get information and/or services at this location.
I had been looking for simple, high quality alterations in New York City that doesn't break the bank, making it possible to extend the life of my clothes in a sensible way. I've found my spot and my tailor. Braulio is simply excellent — he is very skilled, friendly and efficient. When adjustments need to be made, he does them with a smile. Nothing fancy here in this laundromat, where you might be changing in the back room if you're modest. But what MBJ lacks in ambiance, it more than makes up for it in the kind of anytime-tailor you dream about but thought you couldn't find in the big, fancy, expensive city. It's a really easy walk from the subway too. Gracias Braulio!Service: Alterations
