I visited this nail salon because it was open late. I like gel manicures. I saw a pretty simple design that I wanted, but the manicurist didn't know to apply the gel to get the effect of the design. I ended up with a horrible $20.00 gel manicure. While getting my nails done, another customer sitting beside me had her nail "ripped off" and was bleeding for several minutes before the manicurist decided to put antiseptic on the client's nail. They should really learn how to do nails properly --without ripping nails off the consuners and ripping them off for their money.

Sadly, there are no good nail salons in the whole Midwood and surrounding areas, so I plunged in this little hole-in-a-wall out of desperation. The place was not even online, so i just added it... so I can leave a review. Too bad the owners won't be able to read it - almost no English was spoken there. Place dirty and empty - on a Sunday afternoon (!), with 2 staff lounging on the pedicure chairs in boredom, talking on phone, etc. BTW, The place remained that empty for my entire stay - should have heeded the sign! As I entered, I showed the person Google Maps on my phone and explained my surprise that I could not find a listing for them. The woman did not know what to make of that and behaved as if she saw a phone for the first time, and has never heard of the internet. I spoke slowly and plainly, showing her Yelp next, and said - you HAVE to be on the internet! She said, confused, Oh Yes? - but am not sure she understood the significance of any of it. Next I engaged her for a full leg wax. Worst leg wax I've ever had, hands down. - The bed did not have a disposable paper sheet, so she lined up a few paper towels for where my legs were, but for the rest of the body, i had to lie directly on the bedding shared by who knows how many customers. The woman's apron was incredibly dirty. - The woman was unable to apply the wax evenly, leaving gaps every time... This did not bother her a bit, and she did not add more wax, even though I called her attention to this problem. Of course, hair remained in those gaps at the end, even though I showed her a lot of places she missed and she did reapply. At the end, she tried to remove the remaining islands of hairs with a ... pincette! This is sometimes done in brow waxing, but imagine it with leg waxing?! How ineffective and slow it would be... So much easier to repeat the area with wax - or even easier, to apply it evenly in the first place! Such lack of common sense was evident in my entire experience there. - She did not think to tell me to turn - eg, she would suddenly start to wax my side, without telling to turn to the side, which placed me in some awkward positions. At the end, I myself decided to turn on my stomach, to make it easier for her to wax the backside of the legs. At this move, she acted surprised and exclaimed that I was "smart". Maybe turning the customer on their tummy has never occurred to her! - I doubt she knew about sensitive wax, there was only one bowl with green wax there, and I said nothing. The wax was cold, and I told her that, but she blew on it every time anyhow. - She was a complete amateur at waxing. She pulled the paper too slowly. Luckily, it was only the legs, so I quietly endured the whole long torturous experience. She applied oil afterward not with hands, as is customary, but with a dry paper towel, which felt grating on the inflamed legs. - apparently, she has never done full leg wax before - she explained that much and told me she did not know what to charge me (really?!) - when the wax was over, I decided not to do the planned pedicure, and just left. Who knows what horrors it entailed. - when i got home, i still found a solid strip of uncleaned wax on my legs, which had transferred to my spandex.
