Been taking some private lessons with Marty to learn guitar and I couldn't be happier. Marty came highly recommended to me by my good friend Danny and he was so wise to send me to Marty. I played violin when I was younger but I was recently inspired to pick up the guitar and it's been great for my soul and Marty has been like a doctor diagnosing my bad violin habits and correcting them for guitar. I would recommend anyone to try out this gem of a music school in Brooklyn. It's never too late to pick up an instrument and play. Prices are reasonable and the studio is conveniently located and I always feel welcome.

My 9 year old has been learning guitar here for the past 2 years. Marty laid a rock solid foundation for him by emphasizing a lot on technique. Reading and memorizing the notes are a huge hurdle for anyone to overcome and that really comes through practicing at home. But Marty was fairly patient through the beginning stages. If you are serious about learning an instrument and are committed to practicing outside of class then you can't go wrong here. Recently, Brian has taken over as Jalen's guitar teacher and Jalen seems to really like him as well.

This is a fantastic school that offers a balance of private lessons with group lessons and recitals. My son has been taking violin here for 3 years (started at 4 years old) and absolutely loves it. They have taken the time to understand my son's personal needs and figure out ways to make it fun and exciting (which is a big challenge when motivating a child).
