Very thorough investigation, solid report, plenty to take to my landlord to get him to remove the mold. Also very responsive to questions over email, communicated directly with the owner.

I have worked with Big Apple twice now. The first time I experienced a minor flood in the home from my flat roof, I didn't see the damage right away. By the time I saw the actual impact on my ceiling and wall paint, and then my wallpaper, the cost of repair had grown quite expensive. I worked with Big Apple to identify and remove mold, then had to hire a contractor to repair the work. I think Big Apple offers remodeling services, but I wanted to work with my renovation team. During the vendor quoting process, I was advised to call right away in the future to ensure the best chance at help from my insurance as well as the ability to stop the water damage in its tracks with the greatest cost efficiency. For example, technicians can remove the baseboards/molding to put industrial dehumidifying tubes in the wall to prevent more damage. So, several months later, the upstairs apartment had a clogged toilet and flooded our bathroom ceiling. Even though it was 1-2am, I called Big Apple, and David took my call right away. I was so relieved to receive advice, and after evaluating the tradeoffs, we scheduled a team to come the next morning. Unfortunately, the technicians consistently fail to match arrival time expectations so be mindful that estimated arrival times may be off by a few hours. They were in and out in less than 2 hours, removed my ceiling and wet insulation, and set up industrial dehumidifiers. They also helped me check the upstairs apartment restroom for any further issues. I am grateful for the fair pricing and speedy help that Big Apple has been able to provide me. There is less communication/headsup on when they come back to pick up their equipment, but it's typically a couple or more days later depending on the extent of the water damage. If planning on utilizing insurance, definitely keep or ask for photos of the moisture readings.
