The people who gave this salon 2 stars are jerks and need to never visit small salons again. First of all, I've been a customer for over 20+ years and have gone to every location they have moved to. Alida is my hairstylist and is always been my go to person with styles, cuts and colors. They are very straight forward and take their jobs very seriously. If you want a huge salon, serving champagne and getting charged ridiculous amounts of money for a simple cut. Don't come here. This Salon is very old school and very quiet. Don't waste their time with your stupidity. Know what you want and be prepared to wait if you don't have an appointment. Mimi

Very good place, small but clean. The wait is short, which for me is always a plus. I usually go with Alida or in her absence with her sister Barbie, I always leave pleased and the price is incredible. I only cut my hair and style it, I have no experience in dyes. I recommend the place 100%.

First off I have to say... If you are looking for a luxury salon that offers flat and sparkling water w a warm wash ( slightly scented w lemon )cloth to refresh yourself THiS iS NOT THE PLACE for you. Quite on the contrary, this salon is SmALL and by all means very simple. 3 styling stations , two sinks, 5 hair dryers and two very small "waiting area" seating benches. The bathroom is so small you have to shift in and out sideways as not to bang into the washer dryer that is located in the back for towels and styling capes. I know, I know. All I've said does not in the smallest way make you want to stop by or perhaps even continue reading this but.... These women know hair. Barbie ( yes, Barbie ) is the owner and her sister Alida is her number one. Delia is the 3rd woman who does hair, mani's and pedi's ( old school warm water bucket way) and eyebrow/lip/ chin waxing. They are from DR and have been doing, learning, dealing with hair since Niñas and could probably operate this place w a bucket of water, 2 combs a flat iron and one flash light. They still use old school foil for dye jobs and the cap w a million holes for highlights. The outcome is outstanding and natural looking. I have been a client of Alida's since HS ( now 28 ) I live in NJ and have yet to find any place that does a better roller set or blow out. In fact I will take one step further and say that there have been times I've sat in the chair and said " I don't know you figure it out" and she will never disappoint. They are always so upfront with their opinion ( as the advocate for your hair of course ) on a style or cut you've been contemplating. Now,as a patron of over 10 years, have I come here and had to wait ridiculously long to get started or to get the finishing blow out...? Absolutely. But it's part of the charm although hard to remember when sitting on a numb buttocks. They take their job seriously but they also value their time as well. If they've been working straight from open to 2 , please know they WILL stop and eat lunch. Lol Words of advice... If you're new , call and make an appointment. Almost always you will be held to it. 2 if you're in a serious rush, let them know but do your part to keep the ball rolling. 3 don't EVER eat or drink anything sticky while under the dryer or waiting. Like I said these are old school Latinas that set rules and expect manners and nothing less. ( there is a small section in back where u can have a snack but be sure your drink containers are empty before tossing in garbage or hell will be paid lol ) 4 learn Spanish, cuz you aren't going to get much English convo in here unless it's another client. 5 don't bring your kids or babies w strollers there just isn't enough room and no one wants to watch them. 6 I believe it's cash only I consider these women like my extended family. Like aunts I visit every weekend ( thats right I make that trip across the G Dub to get my hur did ). My hair always feels and looks amazing when I leave here and I thrive off of the dip into the culture of Latinas old and young. ( I am Puerto Rican ) practicing Spanish, reading horrible Spanish novellas in comic book form, gossiping from TV or life and the piping hot cafe negro con azucar they serve from time to time. I will continue to come here always.
