2505 Broadway, Astoria“surprisingly great hair cut. i was getting some dumplings across the street and noticed this salon; little bit old but saw a guy coming out with a great looking haircut. so i thought worth a shot.
if you want a classic haircut that is well blended and not get butchered then this is the place.
and it’s hard to find a person who understands asian hair. but kathy revealed she worked for a korean salon back in the day in the village. so this gonna be my spot now.
don’t judge a book by its cover“

22-77 Steinway St, Astoria“I wear wigs and need it styled. I was in the neighborhood, so I decided to stop by. The owner Ray was very nice. I told her I needed my wig cut. Evened out in the back feathered layer cut in front. I was very pleased with the outcome of exactly what I wanted, and I like that she does not cut with razor. Ray explained to me that cutting with a razor damages your hair. Ray specializes in hair extensions. I will definitely drive to Astoria to have Ray cut my wigs.“

3209 48th St, Astoria“Solid threading spot located in upper Astoria. I feel like I'm cheating on my go-to threading lady whenever I come here, but she's closer to where my older apartment was and sometimes I just can't make the hike. This place is a good option for me in a pinch. The price is fair, and they do a good job, but they don't trim the tops of my eyebrows or brush them out the way my go-to spot does. It's a small salon with just two chairs, so you may need to wait if they're busy. Something worth noting about the salons up here (this one and Bry's nails around the corner), they do lock their doors even when they're open for safety purposes. It sucks that female-owned businesses up here have to do that, but with William H Bryant across the street there are just a swarm of bored teenagers with nothing better to do than be obnoxious to these ladies, unfortunately. All that said, I've never felt unsafe here. Just something to be aware of if you're stopping in and aren't a regular.“

32-77 Steinway St, Astoria“It was my first time getting sugaring done, I got a Brazilian treatment.the studio was clean and the receptionist was super nice during check in/check out. Carmita (the esthetician) was so kind and so patient with me, answered all my questions and explained to me the aftercare and when to come back, she was an angel. Will definitely come back, make sure to ask for carmita!“

44-6 30th Ave., Astoria“Guys don't typically write reviews for nail salons, but I felt I really needed to as they're great here. Try to come for a mani/pedi every other month and they always do an incredible job. They make you feel comfortable and pampered and are courteous and professional. Once I asked to have my fingernails painted 10 different colors for a party, and they came out amazing and lasted for two weeks.Services: Nail painting“
“Muna is the absolute eyebrow queen ? ? Ive been coming here for two years, and I always leave feeling beautiful and happy. Can’t beat the price.“
