I've tried other dermatologists in the Reno/Sparks area, but I really hit the jackpot with this one. Ease of Getting an Appointment I called on a Monday and got an appointment for that Thursday. They seem to keep Thursday afternoons open for new patients, in order to provide excellent customer service. Friendliness of Staff Everyone I interacted with was very friendly and relaxed. The dermatologist, Dr. Angela Walker, was kind and gentle. She had a calm demeanor that put me at ease. Atmosphere It honestly felt more like a day spa. I didn't have to fill out any long forms. There were no phones ringing off the hook. The lighting and decor were softer and more relaxing than you find in most doctor's offices. They have an entire wall of very nice looking skin care products for sale, which adds to the day spa feel, but there was no pressure to buy any of it. I am so happy that I found this place. Going back once a year will be a pleasure, rather than a chore.
Staff was friendly and it was clean. I do appreciate the staff was knowledgeable and identified concerning moles and spots. However, I would have liked more information on the process. I was going in for some mole checks, and I didn’t know they would be removing them right then (nice not to return for an additional appt). Although I didn’t know the post procedural recommendations which would have been helpful as I won’t be able to participate in some upcoming events due to the procedure.
Had to go for my annual skin check. I had not had one in quite a quite since I left California. My primary care referred me to Dr. Jayla Gray. She was very thorough and informative about what was a normal skin discoloring and what dermatologist look for. Now for the bad news. Dr. Gray has left the practice so I don't have anyone to see there. I'm supposed to get a skin check every year due to a biologic therapy I take because of the potential for skin cancer risk. The front desk is very nice and professional as was the phone person I booked the appointment with. The office is uplifting and nicely decorated. I hope I can find another doctor taking patients. I know its hard in dermatology to get an appointment.
