I have an extensive list of honey-do things I want to get done that are either beyond my skillset or don't have the right tools for, but needed to vet some handymen. I saw an impressive looking Mr. Handy van and thought if they had nice vehicles like that they're probably pretty good. The Yelp reviews were okay, too. (I even reported one I thought didn't belong. See how nice I am?) So, I kept them in the back of my mind. Fast-forward, I got a nastygram from my HOA that my two outside lights were out and I had 14 days to fix them. No big deal. I bought a new photocell and installed it. Sadly, it didn't work. I'm capable of troubleshooting, but it was so darn hot outside! I'm a heat wimp! I decided to call someone to do all the troubleshooting I would have done. This would probably be a quick and easy job to test Mr. Handy on. They had a timely appointment, and they also text to keep you quickly informed or for you to reach out to them. The office manager, Linda, told me I'd get a text when they were coming, but he'd be about an hour away, and they'd text when it was 20 minutes so I didn't leave work too early (I work 7 miles away). Okay, so they respond quickly EXCEPT when it's important. When I got a text at 11:26 saying he was on his way, I replied asking if this was the hour one or the 20 minute one? Nothing. I waited about 5 minutes before leaving work because I don't like to be rude. Finally, as I sat around waiting at home, they texted at 12:23 that it was 20 minutes. He arrived 3 minutes later. I explained to Jonatan--who is super nice, but not the owner--what was going on, what I did, and admitted I didn't check the LED bulbs because I didn't think both would go out at the same time. He checked my work and one of the wires had popped off when I reassembled the photocell. Of course it did! Now I feel stupid. He also popped in two new bulbs, vacuumed the dead bugs from the fixtures. All for the low, low price of... $125! Plus 4% if you want to use a credit card, and he said they don't take Venmo, Zelle, or anything. I wrote my first check in YEARS! Okay, shame on me for not getting a quote before letting him do anything, but seriously??? Two LED bulbs and deciding to use different wire nuts is about $5. Was that REALLY $120 of labor? Since he was here, I decided to try to get my money's worth by having him give an estimate on a couple of other things, such as level my front door or threshold (with stripped screws) so the new sweep with a drip cap would work, and replace my double bowl kitchen sink with a single bowl. I told him I wanted the style with an offset drain to the right and why, and to keep my existing faucet. Then I sent him on his way. At least I thought I sent him on his way. It was kind of creepy that he sat in the van and didn't leave for half an hour. I was about to go make sure he didn't keel over from heatstroke when he finally pulled away and left. AND the lights are wonky. They keep going on and off for no reason while the photocell has full eastern without obstruction. I told them about it, but I'm not inclined to have them come back. I received the estimate for the new work 10 days later, and they want $650 for the sink project, including a $150 sink WITHOUT the offset drain I was VERY explicit about. And the door threshold quote only says "repair door sweep" for $50, which suggests he just wants to put on the cheap plastic one on he mentioned that doesn't have the drip cap despite my explaining why it's needed. Needless to say, expensive lesson learned. I will not be reaching out to them again.

Very professional team and great work. They are always on top of things and make sure your taken care of. Pricing is a little high on most work but other then that I would recommend them to anyone in need of a handyman

I called Mr Handy regarding replacing a garage florescent light fixture. They scheduled a date. They were on time. Mike did an excellent job. Very professional. I will use them again.
