My son Randen, (12 at the time now 13) started 8 months ago this past April and being that we just moved from Waipahu, Hawaii to the 9th island (Las Vegas), we wanted him to build his confidence within himself because of him being "shy" also with a new school and him being smaller then the rest of the kids we notice a little bullying happening. My husband actually found this place in Henderson, NV; Grandmaster Benny Luna "Uncle Benny" is also from Hawaii, it just made it easier for us to feel right at home...."Home away from home, they say." We started Randen with a no commitment introductory class just to see if it was a fit for him, the other students don't compete with each other instead they are warm and welcoming, it was immediately that our son was eager to start and we enrolled him without hesitation; It didn't take long for my son to adapt and adjust, with the many advices from Uncle Benny, and 1 belt promotion later (6 months later), my son Loves it !!! My husband and I saw the difference within our son, he built more confidence within himself broke out of his shell, and respect for others..Many Mahalos to Grandmaster Benny and Instructors Bill/William/Julian and Connor. The name of this dojo says it all, "Ohana" Kenpo Karate..Become part of it, we are Blessed to be part of this Ohana...
I signed my daughter up immediately after her introductory period ended. But if I'm being honest, I signed her up 3 days after training. The instructor are phenomenal. Grand Master is here most of the time and you can feel his passion. I'm glad we picked this over soccer.
If you're in the market for Karate/Kungfu/Judo/Kenpo school look no further. Train under a Grandmaster from Hawaii ( Benny Luna) and great instructors.Chief Instructor Bill, and assistant instructors Williams and Julian (bring a diversity of backgrounds in Martial Arts) and who genuinely care about you and your training.I started 11 months ago and only enjoy it more each time I go. I've studied various Martial Arts and this adds to any training you might have done. If you've never trained before this is also a great place to start. My grandkids ages 14,10, and 9 are now enrolled and have received their first belts. I've seen what a positive effect it has had on them, and they really love it.Kajukenbo is truly a Martial Art designed for no a nonsense street self-defense. Highly recommended!
