I went off the recommendation of a good friend to get my cdl through A1. Gene is the owner very nice guy and kinda cut and dry. Gigi was the instructor teaching you the pretrip which is very important, backing trailers etc. I asked a lot of questions and she was very patient with me. I'd definitely recommend this school to anyone looking to get your cdl
Yelp was not around 10 years ago, when I signed up for this school. Sure it's not fancy, sure it's limited on space and yeah the tractor I drove wasn't brand new. But in my 2-3 week course, I was the only student in my class, there was another guy finishing up. I got sent home with a ton of paperwork, but it helped me pass my permit test. I then went back and completed my schooling here and passed this school, because I'm not sensitive to my feelings, I took criticism to make me a better person, because I'm the student wanting to learn. Gene never really played a role in the process, he had a few instructors that were 1on1 with me. And you know what, I passed his schooling and my skills, pretrip and road test.. I'm now in California, carried my CDL for 10 years, the The KungFlu came to California and had to downgrade to classic, because I couldn't get in to see a physician for the life of me. But here I am 1.5 years later having to do everything all over again. And the school I chose was cheap in every way. And I'm at a point where I'm going to reach out to Gene to find out if he's still doing this, and if so.. get more info again about his next class. Yeah I may have to do schooling again, but at least I will be back in the game....... I'd recommend this truckin school to everyone
I don't understand the negative reviews. I talked to Gene around 2002 and he was great back then. I was fully prepared for the test and passed on the first time. After not driving for over a decade and moving to Ca, where there stupid regulations forced me to cancel my CDL. I find myself needing my CDL again. I moved back to Nevada, and I have been talking to Gene many times over the last couple of months about scheduling, requirements, new regulations etc and he has been fantastic. He gave me study guides so I could pass the permit test on the first try. I'll be taking my driving classes in a couple of weeks and I am sure I will get my license on the first try. What more can you ask of a school.
