Last Sunday, our hot water tank decided to turn the basement into a swimming pool. The water had obviously been leaking for several hours overnight, spreading throughout 90% of our partially finished basement. Our insurance company sent ServiceMaster to assess the damage. We initially took steps recommended by the insurance company to mitigate our damages. When Barb came by Monday afternoon, she was so confident and compassionate, walking me through the next steps. Given all the flooding recently, she thought her crew would be able to come by Thursday but would drop off drying equipment before then to get the process started. She called me later that evening to tell me her crew were such rockstars that they got done another job early and could be there the next day. The compliment for her own crew felt so genuine. On Tuesday, four workers showed up and were again incredibly kind and friendly. As a woman, I sometimes find maintenance employees treat me like a kid or like I’m stupid. I didn’t experience any of that with this crew. They were confident without being cocky and efficient. The snippets I heard of them working together suggested a lot teamwork and seamless collaboration. They waved at my overly excited kids (who thought the guys were construction celebrities) and even offered to come meet my dog who was upset with not getting cuddles from her 4 new friends. The crew got two bedrooms, a laundry room, hallway and tv room all stripped of the flooring and cleaned the cement floor in a storage and toy area as well as shuffle our belongings around carefully all before 3pm. All in all, I am beyond happy with the service we’ve gotten so far and very much appreciate their guidance through this process. My husband is currently deployed and this situation could have been a lot more overwhelming than it has been without their professional support.
