First contact was for an emergency leak in my whole home filters. Barry (I believe) called back to tell me that he couldn't come out until Sunday because he had company and had been relaxing and wouldn't drive after a couple of "relaxes", which I found quite admirable. He came out Sunday morning to fix the leak, which he couldn't do, due to cross threaded input/outputs on the 2 filter units. He simply removed the damaged filter units pending their replacement. I also asked if he might be able to do something upon their return to cause my kitchen sinks to drain properly. They were almost at a "no drain" state. He ordered two new filter housings (I could reuse both the brass pex connectors and the brand new filters from the old, damaged housings), and returned this morning to install them. This took very little time, and they proceeded to use a "snake" (auger) on my kitchen drains. They corrected a slight problem with the level of the drain (it was higher at the mid-point than where it entered the main), and then began working on the drain itself. PLEASE people.... do not put grease or oils down your drains. The previous owners must have done this, as the drain stopped up completely this morning, and running the auger down the pipe had no effect at all. It took them quite some time, using a smaller pipe running from the bottom of the drain to clean out such gunk as to almost make me ill. They worked on it and worked on it, and finally succeeded in clearing the drain, all the while being very careful not to leave me any mess in the basement. They were both very polite, friendly, and a pleasure to be around while they worked hard while remaining careful not to leave me with a mess at any time. (And not once in some two and a half hours was I faced with a "plumber's crack". �) I would not hesitate to recommend Chapman Plumbing to anyone in need of honest, reliable plumbing services, or to avail myself of their services in future should I have the need. (BTW, the two filter housings which they provided at a cost comparable to ones available from Home Hardware, are much stronger appearing, with metal threadsand a fully threaded housing.)
