Great art work from local artists. I ended up buying a rattle. Native American Rattles date back to historic times and have been used throughout the world to help keep rhythm during tribal dances and ceremonies. Traditional Native American rattles or shakers were made out of dried gourds with the seeds inside providing the sound. Each tribe had specific rattles that they would create. Each tribe would use different beads, colors, and designs, which served as an indicator of which tribe created the rattle. Rattles are also believed to have potent healing properties. I was so happy to see this collection of artists. The street reminds me of a street in San Carlos, Calif. What a great opportunity for the City of Belen to make this street with wonderful architectural design something unique and draw people in like myself from San Antonio.
