“There are only a few things in life that a person is never truly prepared for: the beginning of life with the birth of a child, and the end of life with the passing of a spouse/parentSuch in the case of the latter, my family was quickly overwhelmed with important decisions. One of these decisions was to ensure we select a funeral home that would take my father into their care through to his final resting place.Still in disbelief, and quite honestly, shock, we felt a bit blind navigating through this process. It helped a bit that my mother had an idea of what she wanted for her husband (such as type of ceremonial services, and the final send-off whether that be burial or cremation), as well as understanding the considerations for family and friends and their travel needs, and therefore providing some criteria (location and time). It helped narrow our search, which led us to contacting Rezem Funeral Home.Tara, the funeral director, immediately gave us a sense of assurance that our father would be taken care of. She took our call and patiently addressed all of our immediate questions and gave us a sense of the processes that would take place. We had an in-person meeting with Tara at the funeral home the next day, where we discussed the arrangements in detail. Again, Tara was extremely patient and empathetic of our situation and concerns. By the end of the meeting, we felt comfortable and confident that Tara and Rezem Funeral Home would provide the best care of our father.On the day of the viewing, Rezem Funeral Home provided a welcoming and comfortable space for our family and friends to pay their final respects to my father. We couldn't have asked for a better place for family and friends to gather before giving my father his final-send off. We were given the whole establishment for the whole viewing, which warmly accommodated the large showing of friends and family that came. In hindsight, the on-site parking gave our friends and family a peace of mind, with one less thing they have to worry about as they came to see my father.During the viewing, Tara, came through with her assistance of helping us set-up refreshments that we brought, while we met and talked with friends and family. Tara also helped with the proceedings, presiding and guiding the delivery of speeches and prayer during the viewing. All in all, Tara is a superb individual that supported our friends and family through this grieving process.Finally, on the day of the final send-off, Tara and the Rezem Funeral Home team truly exceeded our expectations with the transportation and guiding us through the cremation process. “I am certain that we all know how stressful and upsetting this process could be. With that said, Brian and the rest of his team make this so much easier with their concern and willingness to help making this a smooth and easy process. When I started looking for a memorial stone, which was very large (10') I went to 4 different places to check out prices. The first one was Hall Monuments. After meeting Brian and discussing things I don't know why I bothered to go to the other places, but I did. Although everyplace I went, I was treated well but price wise Hall was by far the best. After deciding on using Hall Monuments, I sat down with Brian and discussed what I wanted the stone to look like. He advised me on all matters concerning color, style and engraving. When the stone came Brian asked me to come by to discuss it. It was better than I expected but after some very close inspection, when I was not there, Brian found a small crack, which was not noticeable at all. Brian told me that it was unacceptable for him to use the stone and ordered a new one. While waiting for it to come in I must have changed designs 3 or 4 times with Brian always listening and making sure I would be happy. Even when after the stone was set in the cemetery I had to ask for another change before the engraving was done. Again, no problem for him. The monument was better the I expected, and the process was much easier due to the kind, caring and compassion of all at Hall Monuments. As you can tell I would highly recommend using them as I am certain they would take care of you as they did me and my family.“
