“I was diagnosed with Meniere’s over 12 years ago. I had vertigo episodes on and off and gradual increase of tinnitus (right ear) up until I got pregnant with my first child in 2019. Throughout my pregnancy I had no symptoms whatsoever. When I reached one year postpartum, my son was weaning off breastfeeding and my symptoms came back more severe than I’d ever experienced. I had daily vertigo, needed a hearing aid, and started experiencing drop attacks. My specialist (of 6 years) only ever medicated me with a concoction of drugs, but nothing ever helped. In many cases, it made me feel worse. It got so bad I had to take a leave of absence from work (I’m a teacher), as I couldn’t make it through the day without having an episode.While on leave, I decided I needed to advocate for myself to get the care I TRULY needed. I came across a support group on social media that focused on TMJD and alignment issues connected to the misdiagnosis of Meniere’s. They had an incredible list of specialists in fields of chiropractic care, dentists, physical therapists and the like. Molland Spinal Care was on the list, one of the closest NUCCA Chiropractic offices to where I live. After doing some research on NUCCA Chiropractic Care, I decided to schedule an appointment to find out if misalignment could be a root cause of my issues.After meeting with Dr. Zachary for the first time in August 2023, I finally felt like I was on the right path. Aside from his calm, caring demeanor, he is extremely knowledgeable and was able to explain what was going on with me in a way I could actually understand. So many experiences he had discussed with me that I had leading up to the condition I was in (falling down the stairs when I was younger, fainting episodes I had in High School, and the car accident I got in while in college) finally made sense. I knew deep in my gut that there had to be a reason for these symptoms, but understanding the root cause was never something any previous medical professional cared to consider. I also sought out a TMJD specialist, as my jaw alignment was so bad, Dr. Zachary felt it could be a beneficial addition to my care with him (bonus…they have spoken with each other about my care moving forward - I have never felt more supported or understood before).It’s been an entire month with absolutely no symptoms! Although I still have some tinnitus, it’s not nearly as loud and I haven’t needed to wear my hearing aid for weeks. I’m back to exercising on a daily basis (something that was a huge part of my life prior to my symptoms flaring up) and I feel better each and every day. I understand that this healing process is a journey and I will face both highs and lows, but the highs are more frequent and are outweighing the lows, and there’s no denying how great that feels. I truly can’t thank Dr. Zachary enough for what he’s done for me. I’m finally getting my life back, and for that, I will be forever grateful for him and his incredible practice.“
