“I have been a customer of Frank's for over 20 years. In that time I have used him repeatedly as a homeowner and a condo board president. He has always done an excellent job. He put on a rubber roof, removing 6 layers of old roofing, on my home and put new roofing on my garage, he helped me solve a leak by my roof drain that eluded me for 10 years. He came when I had an emergency leak (in the winter) due to a change by another contractor attempting to solve that very leak. It has never re-occurred. He has done sheet rocking, wall insulation, cement work and windows all at a reasonable price. He stands by his work. For the condo building we had him replace crumbling stucco walls in a large air light shaftway with vinyl siding as well as replace the entire tiled roof with flat roofing material that had 35 rotten sheets of plywood due to icing under the tiles (wrong material for a roof without enough pitch). I cannot say enough for the quality and good prices that he offers.“

“Earlier this week I called Vila around 11 am and requested emergency service for an Anderson window that I had somehow jammed open, perhaps broken while cleaning the panes.. Farouk told me he was at a Manhattan job until 4 and would come to Park Slope after. That he did! Exactly as promised! So exceptionally reliable and prompt service from the very beginning. While here, with an assistant standing by, Farouk quickly and efficiently got the window closed. He spent no more than 3 minutes on the the task. No charge! He understood it had felt like an emergency to me, with the dreadfully hot day and my inability to figure out what I had done. He was so kind in his manner. Then he patiently took the time to show me how the window works and how to tilt the panes inward, so as to clean them. I had long forgotten how to do that. He showed me twice, just so I could be sure to follow the process. No charge! In fact, many years ago when the windows were first installed and I had attempted to tilt them in for cleaning, I accidentally removed them entirely from the frame. Back then another Vila worker came and fixed them in minutes. No charge then either. That is why I had kept the business card. Contrast this to the many repairman cards I have thrown out over 21 years on Park Slope after the first encounter with their service. Vila is a gemstone. I will be using them for a long delayed repair on a screen door and feel more than happy to continue recommending them.“

“Carlos and his team are excellent professionals. We live in a 2 story historic building in Brooklyn, NY - flatroof, and originally I just noticed some leaks in the top floor and pooling in the back. They very gentle recommended to redo the roof - we did it - and discovered the roof was probably at least 60 years old! never replaced with no insulation. They quickly brought the supplies and did the roof in 1.5 days! A huge feat. They replaced the skylights as well and this whole time were in excellent communication and very good at problem solving. Sent estimate and invoice electronically and they stand by their word at the quality of their roofs. II highly recommend them. Super pro.“
