I have called Van's appliance repair twice and both times I found him to be very knowledgeable and efficient. He repaired my dishwasher quickly and it was very reasonable. He repaired my old dryer and knew the machine well, knew exactly the problem, had the part and had it up & running in no time.

Our dryer was not drying. I called Van's and ended up leaving a message on a machine, which I was not thrilled about - I usually just want to schedule something ASAP before I get distracted and then 3 more days go by - however Van (I will call him Van from this point on because I don't remember his name) called me back within an hour. He came the next day (Saturday morning), was extremely pleasant, knowledgeable and identified and fixed the problem right away (broken belt - he had a new one with him). He charged me $150 - half the quote I received from another larger, local appliance repair business. He was an older guy (maybe in his late 60's or 70's) and seemed like a really honest, old time repair man (he wrote us out a paper receipt :) My boyfriend asked him if he thought we needed a new washer and dryer and would he recommend some - he spent a good amount of time telling us which ones he's worked with over the years and recommends (apparently the new ones look really cool but are mostly plastic and not well built - I am pretty proud of our 25 year old, well made, still-kickin' washer/dryer). Bottom line - Van is awesome. I would highly recommend him to anyone.
