“I made an appointment for a haircut with the owner, Jila, after reading all of her high reviews on Yelp and Google. I have been mainly cutting my own hair since Covid, as my old salon in Bergen County permanently closed. Jila was very warm, accommodating, and sweet to talk to during my appointment. I showed her two pictures, which to my eye were similar, but she explained were very different cuts. So together we selected one of the two cuts based on my time to devote to upkeep and my own preferred styling methods (curl, shake, and go!). To my excitement, the cut came out amazing and looked EXACTLY like the picture!! I've only had the cut for two days and have already received several compliments, including one from a stranger waiting on me at an ice cream shop. And most surprisingly, the cut looked even better the next day! I rarely write reviews, because I just can't find the time, but I had to share my experience and give 5 stars to Jila! I can't wait to go back and have her update my haircolor too.“

“I did not write the review for Zen Parlour below and don't know how it shows up in Google reviews under my id. I do get hair cuts from Mary at Zen Parlour and have always been happy.If you want to preserve self-esteem after a haircut, avoid this place at all costs. I'm a guy with curly hair, the front down to my nose when wet, and it curls to about my eyebrows. Upon arriving I described to the lady what I wanted, which was just a trim. I said that I like my hair curly and on the longer side, and that I do not part it in any way. She seemed to understand, and began cutting. After she was finished, she had cut the front to an inch above my eyebrows, the back and sides less than an inch. She then brushed my hair to the side and said, "Wear it like this 'til it grows out." I was blown away that she suggested that I keep it brushed to the side after I explicitly said that I like it curly. I was furious, and I assume she has no brain in her head after listening to everything I said, then doing something completely different. My hair will be unable to curl for probably another month and a half, and I will never return as long as I live. This was the worst haircut I have ever received in my life. She shouldn't be allowed to come near a person's hair with scissors in her hand.Service: Haircut“

“I was recomended to Michelle by my friend and I was sceptical and apprehensive at first but went for it. Since I had kids all my time goes to them and here I am 20 years later in need of a stylist. Well a got one, a really good one because I live an hour away but am willing to now come to get my hair done by her and only her. From the begining to the end it was amazing. Shampoo was minty and left my scalp feeling clean and invigorated to the end with the whole cut and style. She mad me feel great from beining to end. I will let no one but Michelle handle my hair from here on out. The end result was way way better than I thought it would be and I am so happy my friend recommended her to me.

“We brought our son (under 2 years old) to Mark because he was suggested to us by a family member. Our son was hysterical the entire time because of previous haircut experiences and Mark did the best that he could given the way our son was handling the haircut. Mark showed him the water spraying out of the bottle and talked to him each step of the way. Fast forward to the second time we brought him to Mark and once again, Mark talked him through each step and told him what would happen before it did. Mark is so patient and talented.
