“I have nothing but great things to say about this vet office. I am a crazy cat mom and I am a very anxious person when it comes to my animals. I found out on Sunday that my cat Scout would need a cystotomy surgery for a bladder stone. I called city by the sea on Monday (they were recommended to me by a ton of people on Facebook) and they got me in the same night for appointment. Dr. Santos-Melody spent so much time with me, doing an extensive evaluation on Scout, went over his blood work, his surgery, and answered any and all questions I had. She was incredible. We originally scheduled the surgery for the 18th but I called and expressed how stressed I was about the position he was in and they moved his surgery up for me. This has been such a crazy few days and I cannot express how easy they have made this process. Their staff, pricing, availability and all around business is just amazing. I seriously could not recommend them enough. Thank you to Karen, Dr. Santos-Melody and to the owner Dr. Tom for working with me and doing all you can do for my baby boy. I so so so so appreciate it !!“

“I recently started to use Bayshore on the recommendation of a few friends. Everyone from reception, to vet techs to Doctors are friendly, warm and caring. My animals get a thorough exam and are treated with respect. I say this because the last vet that I used was afraid of my very mild mannered dog and made me muzzle him before she'd approach him, even though he didn't exhibit any aggressive behavior. And she still didn't give him the exam he should have had. When I brought him to Bayshore I mentioned that they could muzzle him if they thought necessary and they said no need. And last vet was afraid of my cat because she was very vocal as she hates the carrier. Bayshore had no fear of giving her a thorough exam and correctly diagnosing her. Needless to say they are my new vet.“

I had their well visits to get established and came back for a visit when my havanese Nicky was having an issue two months ago. Amanda the tech is so sweet and great w my boys and Dr Vokral is also so sweet and great w them. So far I’m very happy with them and feel so blessed that they are literally a minute away.“

“While their care for my beloved Beagle Lilly of 16 years deserves 5 stars over the years, their "End of Life" Care was ABSOLUTELY TERRIBLE. Quoted from their website, "We understand this is not an easy decision to make and our team will never rush any part of this process". My family's experience was quite the opposite. They tried to RUSH the procedure with NO COMPASSION OR EMPATHY. My Dad brought Lilly in while I was at work, and the Doctor barely even looked at her and told my Dad she needed to "be put down INSTANTLY" and when he told her he would not make that decision without ME there, she told him to just "CALL" Me. (How would you feel if you got a phone call like that? My dog was my world. I rescued her when she was 1 years old. We had a deep bond as she was my furbaby.) He said he would not do that to me, nor did Lilly deserve to be put down without her WHOLE FAMILY there. He walked out with Lilly and the doctor called him the "Devil's Advocate" for not listening her to advice. It was sickening to hear this experience. All they want is money so they can go on vacation. We invested so much in this practice financially, and how they treated us with the, "End of Life" Care is HORRENDOUS. Lilly got the respect she deserved and died peacefully in the care of the SPCA Vets WHO WERE COMPASSIONATE AND LET HER FAMILY be there as she crossed the Rainbow Bridge. They were much more patient and compassionate. I will never bring an animal of mine here ever again. Thank you for caring for Lilly for 16 years, but she didn't deserve your negative energy and disrespect. If you want your pet to be treated with dignity, try somewhere else. Namaste.“

“I can’t begin to explain how much I absolutely love this vets office. Everyone from the ladies at the front desk to the doctors are true professionals and very kind. They take their time to explain things to you and go above and beyond. Everyone is so sweet and compassionate, I highly recommend!!“

“They saved my Niko's life. My puppy had a ruptured gallbladder -- 3 Vets in NY, VERG in Brooklyn, ASPCA In NYC (they are terrible) and Blue Pearl told me to euthanize him -- that his stomach was septic -- he needed emergency surgery but he would probably die even with the surgery.GSVS took Niko in -- did the surgery -- no dramatics about "he is not going to make it anyway" -- he had the surgery -- at the same time they checked his liver which was destroyed by a hack, Dr. Macina At Animal Medical Center in NYC for giving my dog paxil for seasonal allergies (STEER CLEAR OF THIS PLACE IF YOU WANT YOU DOG TO BE WELL) .They took my dog off all the unnecessary meds given by VERG for his liver which has recovered and today, 2-3 months later he is acting like a happy, active puppy. I cannot say enough -- the drive is worth it -- I LOVE THIS HOSPITAL.“

I bought my cat in for an emergency visit on a Sunday and didn't have to wait too long to see a Dr. Unfortunately I found out some bad news and ended up having to say goodbye to my Franky, but the Dr was very compassionate and let me spend as much time as I needed with him. It was a sad day but they were great about it.“

“I am so happy that I found this place not only was my cat spayed, he got his nails trimmed and if he was missing any vaccines/shots he would have been taken care of there. I like that they offer vaccines as well as basic grooming, this definitely saves the trip of going to your vet or somewhere else to have the vaccines done. The facility looked very clean and taken care of from what I saw. I also donated some kitten food that my cat is not eating anymore and I know it will go to a good place where it’s needed, so please bring food that is sealed and not open to donate if you have. The staff was very professional, interactions were clear and just an easy process from the time I dropped off my cat until the time I picked him up I felt he was in good hands.“

“Hands down, the most loving and attentive Vet we have ever been to. We have had many dogs over the years and different Vets before coming to Barnside and truly, Barnside is the gold standard. Dr Sharin couldn't be any more connected to her furry patients. Her staff all love animals as well! The inside of Barnside is just so quaint and relaxing. Welcoming to animals of course but a great little toy space for children too! There are habitats with Gerbils in them, and a hanging bird cage with adorable colorful chirping birds, and what looks like possibly a giant fish tank-in-the-making as well. You may find offices which charge less but the emphasis on prevention of illness is a key to my philosophy of animal care. I don't want to "wait" till my dogs need a Vet because treatment for those things often cost WAY more than preventing an illness. Anyway. We currently have 4 Pets that use Barnside. I wouldn't have anyone else take care of my fur babies!“
