This place is so frustrating because if my girlfriend and I break up, then I'm going to have to travel from the Upper East Side of Manhattan to Point Pleasant, NJ for the sole purpose of getting a haircut (gf's family lives in Ortley Beach). And I'll do it if I have to. Seriously. I'll take a train from Manhattan for 95 minutes just for this haircut. Shane (? Apologies if I spelt your name wrong) did exactly what I wanted. I've gone through hundreds of these city barbers and they either don't listen or don't change their ways. In fact, if my partner and I get into a heated argument? The thought of losing out on this place will likely temper it on my end.

I went to this place as a walk-in because I wanted a change from the person who usually cuts my hair, and I was fed up with how it was looking in hot, humid weather. I was told by the owner (Shain) that I'd have to wait for a bit, and then she got me in her chair about 25 minutes later. I walked out about 25 minutes after that with one of the best haircuts I've ever had. I will definitely be back. I showed her a picture of what I wanted and she explained why my hair wasn't right for that cut - then she used her expertise, a hair straightener, and some product to give me EXACTLY what I wanted! I will definitely be back to see Shain. I told her how happy I was and that's when she told me that she doesn't usually cut women's hair. Ha! If she had said that in the beginning, I might have had doubts but she did an awesome job. Thanks, Shain - see you the next time I need a cut!

Joe is an outstanding barber! He does my hair perfect all the time and knows how to trim my hair up to perfection. I could not recommend anyone better to get your hair cut by than Joe at Bridge Ave Barber Shop.
