About Berkshire Valley Golf Course
Berkshire Valley Golf Course is a highly praised public golf course in New Jersey, known for its scenic layout that begins atop a mountain and winds down. The course features fast greens and well-maintained fairways, providing a fun and relaxing golfing experience. Although the course can show wear due to its popularity and mountainous terrain, the unique challenges and beautiful scenery keep golfers returning. The friendly staff, including helpful starters and pro shop attendants, enhance the overall experience. Many golfers appreciate the course's layout and views, especially in the fall when the scenery is at its best. While tee times can be competitive, great deals can often be found on the GolfNow app, making it a recommended choice for golf enthusiasts. However, some visitors have noted issues, such as delays and limited availability of golf carts. Despite these concerns, the course remains a favorite for those who enjoy its challenges and well-maintained conditions. The clubhouse also offers a cafe and a water fountain, adding to the overall experience.
Beautiful course, especially fall course to play. Except a Chinese lady behind the counter for us to pay green fee soured the experience. There was a significant delay and no carts available. However, without explaining why there was a delay except to bluntly say ‘We will give you money back if you want!’ inside and repeated again when she came outside the club house. She could have simply explained by saying ‘There was a frost delay that pushed t times back.’ Perhaps training and enforcing customer interaction skill is needed.
Like everyone calls out, it is great picturesque course and has enough challenges and difficulty levels for all players.
But for the amount of money we had to pay, this course need to improve a lot
1) In maintaining the facility. Too many divots and beaten up. Yes players should fix it. But if too many events go on then it will have its impacts.
2) Need a mid way proper restrooms. Potter potties are disgusting.
3) Carts are old and noisy
4) Takes almost 5 hours to complete the round.
If you need to compare a course go check out Neshanic for all the maintenance, features and carts. And it is cheaper than this.
My favorite of the Morris County courses. Challenges all over but i like the layout a lot. I play here spring, summer, fall. At times its well maintained tee to green. Other times you can tell it gets played a lot. The halfway shack is never open when i play here but they do have a cafe at the clubhouse. Play here in the fall for the best views.
