Shout out to Dr. Wendy Turner Andover Animal Hospital. We have used Dr Turner as our Vet for several years. Her compassion and expertise has been remarkable over the last few years of our aging pets and our new additions. I called at 9:00 pm hoping to leave a message. She recognized my number and called me after hours after a 9 hour shift and being the on call vet today.

I originally learned about Andover Animal Hospital when I moved back to North Jersey. At that time, I had an elderly golden retriever that was very sick. We had several goldens in the past and we knew how susceptible they are to cancer. I knew something was wrong. Walking into Andover I knew I was not going to be taking him home ever again. Dr. Parker diagnosed him. She showed me his X-rays and I made the hardest decision to stop his suffering. She was so compassionate, loving and I knew I made the correct decision. I said if we ever get another dog, Andover will be the next dogs vet. I surprised my son with a new golden retriever puppy and brought him to Andover Animal Hospital for his initial check up and shots. Again Dr. Parker and staff were amazing. As most golden retriever puppies this dog got into everything ate something he should not have eaten and had to have surgery. Of course this happens when Andover is closed. I brought him into a different hospital, I explained what I thought was wrong. They kept the dog overnight charged me thousands of dollars and sent us home on a chicken and rice diet saying nothing was wrong. We came home but I knew that something was still wrong. I called Andover the next day and spoke with Dr. Turner, I explained what happened and that I was a single mom and after spending thousands I couldn't really afford to spend more. She insisted that I bring him in and have her at least look at him. I did this, she also knew that there was something wrong. She immediately ran the appropriate tests and confirmed my original suspicions. Within hours he had surgery to clear out the foreign matter in his stomach. He came home several days later and was as active, crazy and fun as ever. She saved my dogs life. I am grateful to her and the entire staff. I will never trust anyone with my dog like I trust the Dr. Turner and Dr. Parker. Thank you for everything that you do!!!

6 years ago I received a Facebook plea to consider adopting a 10 year old RagDoll cat who's owner had died and who was then surrendered to Andover Animal Hospital. Andover was asked to euthanize her and Dr Parker refused (the cat had been a regular patient since she was born)! She put out the word to friends of Andover Animal Hospital to have her rehomed! I already had 2 rescues and wasn't looking for a 3rd but she was a beauty ..so a friend drove me to Andover and I fell head over heals right away...Oh those big Blue eyes and what a big fluffy girl she was! I applaud Dr Shelley for reaching out to help find her a new home. 6 years later as she approaches her 16th Birthday I have a trio that is full of character and Molly Jane has her spot and I am loved unconditionally. I will always be grateful to Andover Animal Hospital,Dr Shelley and all the staff....the staff cried when Molly Jane left....that's the kind of people they are.....
