I can’t recommend Linda at Fix My Dog enough! My puppy just finished the two-week boarding/training program, and the results have been incredible. She is now crate trained, walks nicely on a leash, sleeps through the night, and no longer nips, eats things off the ground, or jumps on people. Her demeanor around other dogs is also so much better. Linda was patient, professional, and truly cared about my pup’s progress. The difference in just two weeks has been life-changing! We are now in a great , manageable routine at home and able to enjoy our puppy Thank you Linda!
NJ Fix My Dog saved my sanity! My kids wanted dogs and I knew it would be work for me but had no idea how much. 6 months into dog parenting made me realize that we needed professional help training Beignet and Jazzpar! And yet it still took a couple of months for me to contact Jean at NJ Fix My Dog. I kept thinking that we should be able to do it ourselves. Get on a routine, stay on routine! School, work, activities continued to interfere. Sound familiar? If so, call NJ Fix my Dog immediately. From the first discussion, Jean gave me confidence that I could be a successful and loving dog parent. She recognized my specific situation and set us up with a trainer (Christie) that matched our training needs. I needed a jump start on house breaking. Our 2 morkies needed to learn some manners especially with guests and 1 of them needed to learn how to get along with other animals too. Christie was the perfect trainer for us. Before training started Christie spent time getting to know about us and our training goals. From the time she picked up our boys, she stayed in touch with pictures and progress updates daily. She also made suggestions on what was working so that we could be ready to go when the boys returned. The boys have been back with us for 6 weeks now and the transformation is nearly unbelievable! Guests who knew them before are all impressed with the change. Yes, we missed them terribly for those 2 weeks but to be honest, our 2 little guys were taking over the house before going to boot camp! In just 2 weeks Christie had them mostly housebroken, walking on a leash calmly without pulling and obeying commands like ‘no jumping’ and ‘quiet’! The night before they came home, Christie sent a detailed description of the new routine and detailed instructions for each of our training goals. We just had to follow the rules that she had taught our boys. I say nearly housebroken because they had to reacclimate to our home and to learn that we were now all following the same rules. She spent nearly 2 hours with us practicing the tasks and answering our questions. She retuned 2 happy and well behaved dogs who were also freshly bathed and groomed with pointers on how we could groom them too ourselves. In addition she is still always available to answer questions. By the time Christie left us, I finally felt like the pups could be part of our family! We all enjoy their funny personalities and big cuddles rather than me being constantly frustrated and feeling defeated. I am still amazed at the change in each of the pups and how easy it is to care for them now. I am sure both pups miss their days on the farm with Christie and their walks by the lake and we will always be grateful to her for training us on dog behavior as much as she trained the pups. NJFMD is worth every penny! Thank you Jean and Christie!
We got a lovable and wonderful Bernedoodle puppy back in March, right before the COVID-19 pandemic started to shut things down and go into full effect. With staying home to work all day, it was difficult to enforce “alone time” and separation, causing our puppy to develop some attachment issues and needing to be with us 24/7, unable to be happily alone. Laura with NJ Fix my Dog truly transformed our sweet pup, while his personality remained as lovable and fun as ever! He now happily and quietly stays in his crate, walks nicely and politely on the leash, and doesn’t get overly excited when seeing other dogs or people. Laura truly gave us the gift of being able to enjoy a life with our pup instead of having to constantly revolve everything around him. He’s also much happier being able to do more things on his own! It’s a major commitment to send your dog off with someone you don’t know very well for 2 weeks, but it is one of the best investments we’ve ever made. Laura ensured we’re going to be able to have many years of happy memories with our dog in a feasible and attainable way. Her knowledge about dog training and thoughtfulness about each individual dog truly goes a long way. Thank you so much, Laura!
