I did trapeze yoga as my first class, which was the most fun I’ve ever had at a yoga class. Today I did the Barre class and I left feeling like I could conquer the world!! Absolutely wonderful energy from the teachers and students and I truly enjoy coming here. This was exactly what I needed in my life. Highly recommend.“

700 NJ-3, Clifton“I love the instructors at Club Pilates. My favorite instructors are Peter, Michele, and Deborah. Peter and Deborah are great teachers, especially for beginners; I definitely recommend them. Michele is fun, but I wouldn’t recommend her if you are just starting out. Once you get into the rhythm of things, you can definitely take her classes. Peter and Deborah will make sure you are doing the movements correctly and working the muscles you are supposed to be working and are more hands on compare to Michele. Peter and Deborah are phenomenal instructors in this regard. I love them! I’m sad that Deborah is no longer at the Clifton location, which I go to exclusively, even though I have an unlimited membership. I’ve been going to Club Pilates for almost 3 years now and have mostly worked out with these three instructors. I say it all the time: I am still a member because of the instructors; they are phenomenal!
However, to be honest, the management sucks! I hate the 12-hour cancellation policy; it’s a bit excessive. I’ve always complained that maybe 4 hours is a better time frame because a lot can happen in 12 hours, and they are not flexible with this rule. You can have an emergency, and they will still charge your card, and you have to fight about what constitutes an emergency. That’s the only downside; other than that, the studio is clean, and everything else is fine.
Also, when you pause your membership, they charge you a fee for pausing, and you cannot pause for an extended period of time (I believe 6 months is the max). I had a bad case of a pinched nerve that required physical therapy. Even with a doctor’s note and after paying the pause fee for months, they wouldn’t let me continue to pause after a certain period. Once I was better and cleared by my doctor to start working out, they had canceled my membership, which was cheaper, and I had to reinstate and pay the newer price, which was very frustrating. If I wasn’t coming back, why would I pay the pause fee every month? Like I said, management is the only problem you’d encounter at club Pilates, but other than that, the instructors are great. I am still here because of them and also because there is no competition in the area. If there was, maybe they would be a little more flexible, but they’ve kind of monopolized all the neighborhoods around me. Lol. I definitely recommend it if you don’t mind dealing with the management, like me, to get the benefit of having great instructors. As you can see almost all the bad reviews are with management and to be honest nothing has been done differently. The instructors are great but nobody wants to be always fighting with management. The Clifton manager is very cold and unfriendly. Hope they do some reform and listen to some of the complaints and try to find a happy medium.“

1616 NJ-23, Wayne“I had a great experience at Club Pilates Wayne. As a beginner, I was a bit nervous, but Gina, the instructor, was really kind and made me feel comfortable right away. She explained everything clearly and offered modifications to help me keep up. The studio is clean and has everything you need. I’m looking forward to coming back and would definitely recommend it to others, especially those new to pilates.“

87 NJ-17 North, Maywood“Hackensack Meridian is one of the nicest, cleanest gyms in the tri-state area.Pro's: Huge facility with every machine and piece of fitness equipment you can imagine. Multiple gyms in the area have the "old gym sock" smell. Hackensack literally has no odor and is kept reasonably clean. There is staff to answer questions, but don't expect a boutique experience. Again, huge facility . The showers and locker rooms are clean with towels/soap/shampoo/conditioner/hair dryers . The saunas and hot tub are typically in working condition. When they are not, its fixed within a day. The pool has 8 lanes. Most swim lessons are kept in the therapy pool so there are no splashing/in the way children. Again, the aquatics facility is clean and well run. Swim team starts at 5pm and takes up 2-3 lanes.Minor cons: The giant window between the pool and gym should be one way. It would provide a more private experience for everyone running around in bathing suits. Cellphonesshould not be allowed in the hot tubs. Street shoes should not be allowed on the pool deck. It is a massive hygiene issue. This is mostly on the parents bringing their kids to swim lessons. The lifeguards need to be watching the pool, not clustered together and chatting. They should be separated. Two watching and one roaming the pool deck.Classes: Please attempt to have something at 4:15/4:30 a few days per week.Cafe: Later hours would be greatly appreciated. I would love to grab dinner on my way out the door .Overall: Great facility and the best on Route 17. Minor issues, but no place is perfect . Definitely recommend if you can swing the 80.00 per month.“
“One of the reasons I moved to the area - to be closer to my "home!" Aside from the culture of community, JaiPure is especially unique because it has a strong lineage of Iyengar Yoga, with classes taught by CITYs - some of the most seasoned ones. I have never been to a studio where I could feel the strength of two traditions - Iyengar and Vinyassa - both in the same room.“
