I had a great experience at the Driving Academy. The instructors really helped me feel confident for the road test. I liked that they had several trucks for you to practice the pre-trip inspection. That made it so much easier to memorize! Definitely recommend Driving Academy if you’re trying to get your CDL.
First thing first please take my advice and don’t listen to any review that says they are just out there to take your money and isn’t worth it. The school sets you up with word for word guidelines every step of the way. I personally did the 36 hour course which is honestly overwhelming for someone like myself that doesn’t do the whole school thing well. I was on day 4 and my test was coming up I was lacking the confidence in myself. Thomas sat me down, brought me right back to reality by telling me to slow down and just believe in myself & that I got it. Akeem was my go to on the maneuvers. He thoroughly explained everything and was right there with any help or questions. Tyranne was my go to for pre-trip. He continued to push me and push me and pushed until I remembered word from word. He never let me quit. Melina did not let me leave my last practice until I did the whole test perfect for her. Falvio was my road pass guy, taught me a lot about the road, transmission, and just traffic in general. Oscar (manager) knew I was only there for 36 hours so he made sure him and his crew worked with me to get me ready for my test. The examiner (Drami, my spelling could be way off) was awesome and very thorough. He explained the expectations of the exam every step of the way. With the help of the whole team, I was able to get my CDL class A manual truck on my first try. This school literally sets you up with every word & action you need to pass the test, you just need to put in the work and memorize/learn it. I could not be more grateful for all of the employees that made me believe in myself, and took the time to work with me. Highly Recommend.
