“It’s been almost two months since my beloved eldest sister Sandy has passed and it’s been a struggle to find the right words at times. The night my sister passed was a shock for our family. I remember asking my mother, where would you like her to go? Without hesitation, she said “Colonial.” On that late evening, I spoke with Michael and less than 48 hours later, my other sister and my mother had met Anthony and Michael. In such a difficult time, Anthony, Michael, as well as the entire staff showed us compassion during such a challenging time especially because we have never lost someone we deeply loved before nor did we not know what to expect during the bereavement process. The whole staff treated us like we were family and were kind, helpful, and understanding, and went above and beyond to help our family. Even Anthony’s mom did the makeup on my sister and she looked stunning and not sick at all at the wake. My sister battled parotid cancer for several months which affected the right side of her face and as a family, we knew Sandy took pride in her appearance .Needless to say the services provided were outstanding and I know my sister would have been proud. Our family is thankful that we chose Colonial Funeral Home to pay tribute to my sister and we know going forward that we will definitely use their services again. “I am certain that we all know how stressful and upsetting this process could be. With that said, Brian and the rest of his team make this so much easier with their concern and willingness to help making this a smooth and easy process. When I started looking for a memorial stone, which was very large (10') I went to 4 different places to check out prices. The first one was Hall Monuments. After meeting Brian and discussing things I don't know why I bothered to go to the other places, but I did. Although everyplace I went, I was treated well but price wise Hall was by far the best. After deciding on using Hall Monuments, I sat down with Brian and discussed what I wanted the stone to look like. He advised me on all matters concerning color, style and engraving. When the stone came Brian asked me to come by to discuss it. It was better than I expected but after some very close inspection, when I was not there, Brian found a small crack, which was not noticeable at all. Brian told me that it was unacceptable for him to use the stone and ordered a new one. While waiting for it to come in I must have changed designs 3 or 4 times with Brian always listening and making sure I would be happy. Even when after the stone was set in the cemetery I had to ask for another change before the engraving was done. Again, no problem for him. The monument was better the I expected, and the process was much easier due to the kind, caring and compassion of all at Hall Monuments. As you can tell I would highly recommend using them as I am certain they would take care of you as they did me and my family.“
