I started seeing Vickie 5 years ago for severe back pain. I walked in very nervous, anxious and sure that this was not going to work. Well it worked, my back was feeling better, and I was hooked on this new to me medicine. While two years later I still needed to have back surgery, Vickie was there coaching me on and still taking care of me. I still go almost every week but not just for pain, I have a new sense of well being. I truly believe that Vickie, not the needles have brought me to a much better way of living, I have overcome fears, have a much higher self esteem, I am calmer and enjoy life more than I ever had before. I highly recommend Vickie to anyone who is looking for an alternative approach to healing!
Walk in. Float out. The best money I have spent on my sciatica. For history, I have lived with right hip and sciatic pain for about 17 years. I manage a regular life except a few times a month when it flares up to include right-side pain from head to toe. When that happens, I have difficulty concentrating, sitting or doing much of anything. Over the years, I have worked to resolve my pain by working with many excellent practitioners. I have seen chiropractors and physical therapists, done laser therapy, private training, acupressure, massage, stretching, somatics, and yoga. I followed the treatment protocols for each and enjoyed some relief along the way. I also work as a healer and one of my clients was talking about how grateful she is to her acupuncturist. My ears perked because I realized that this was a modality I had not tried. I was in a flare-up and highly motivated to get some help. I did a search and came up with a small list of names. I called two acupuncturists on the list: person “a” and Vickie. Vickie did not have an opening for several days and I needed something now. I made a same-day appointment with person “a”. “A” did a short intake, placed some needles along the sciatic nerve and left me for 30 minutes in a darkened room. I think this is what you can expect from most acupuncturists. It’s hard to explain what it feels like. There is a small sting when the needle goes in and then I felt vibrations where the needles were, I flushed and got hot. Clearly something was happening. It was pleasant and gave me a few days of relief. This was great, but not different than the other modalities. I have no complaint and think there was nothing wrong with person “a”. I am guessing that this is what you can expect from a typical acupuncture appointment. I was curious to see how it would be with a different acupuncturist. I scheduled a session with Vickie. It was an amazing experience. She spent two hours with me. She asked questions and listened to my answers. She devoted her attention to me during that time. I felt heard and she gave me some concrete things I could do to improve my life when I left. I was already making changes the following two weeks. What makes Vickie unique is that she focuses on one person at at time. She is actively engaged in current research and being an excellent acupuncturist. It’s clear that she has put great thought into her space and it supports the process. She is warm, personable and fun. I walk in and float out. If you are thinking of trying acupuncture or a new acupuncturist, I would recommend you try Vickie.
When my infertility doctor recommended that I use acupuncture to help support my IVF treatments, I was skeptical. I was also nervous – I had never done acupuncture before. During my first phone conversation with Vicki, I immediately knew it was worth my time to at least try this approach. Vicki is an incredibly thoughtful and caring person, and I thoroughly enjoyed my treatments and my time with her. She starts every session with a discussion about how things are going, what current issues or challenges may be, and she tailors her treatment to those needs. I saw her for several months prior to IVF treatments and then during treatment. She was extremely flexible and helped me find times that worked around the IVF schedule and my busy professional schedule. I’m thrilled to share that I am the mother of 2 lovely girls – and I attribute much of my husband’s and my success in getting pregnant to Vicki. I strongly recommend Vicki. She is a wonderful person and acupuncturist.
