I have practiced kumdo off and on for a few years at different locations, including in Korea. Of all the Masters who has taught me, Master Min is by far the best. Not only does he (and Master Lee) stress fundamentals of kumdo, which can easily be translated into any phases of life, but also - and more importantly - takes time to explain why. I have been attending SungMoo Kumdo academy for several years. The senior instructor, master Min, is a highly skilled, great instructor. He taught more about fundamental basics of sword swings, forms and postures, technical nuances of Kendo more than any other masters that I have met over the years. His teaching methods adds a lot of depth to improving your Kendo skill. The training session is a great mixture of lessons, drills, and sparring (which is always fun). I've been going to Sung Moo Kendo Academy since 2012. Master Min is in my opinion one of the best kendo instructor in the U.S. His kendo and sword skills are second to none. Everyone is super friendly and you get to experience both kendo and real sword training in one place. Class schedule is flexible and Masters will give full attention to ensure that you can enjoy the fullest.
