“Max came by to fix our Weil-McLain High Efficiency ECO boiler and did so honestly, thoroughly, and for a fair price. He clearly knew what he was doing—he had done his homework on the boiler—something I can’t say for the four or five HVAC techs I’ve had over the past year who either refused to touch it or insisted it needed to be replaced entirely. I can respect an HVAC tech who’s upfront about not servicing high-efficiency Weil-McLain systems. But what really frustrates me—and what hurts the reputation of this industry—is the nonsense some techs tell consumers, assuming we won’t know better. That’s where the trust breaks down. The previous HVAC company wanted to charge thousands of dollars for what turned out to be a completely bogus diagnosis.
