Over more than 20 years as his patient, Dr. Harmer has become one of my favorite doctors. His interest in your health goes well beyond vision, since, as he explains, the retina and its microcirculation provide early warnings about diabetes and hypertension. Dr. Harmer's practice has an ever expanding array of modern diagnostic tools to aid his diagnosis. He is generous with his time in explaining his findings. When, as in my case, cataract surgery was required I benefited from his close association with the most highly regarded eye surgeon in our region. Let me add a perhaps sentimental endorsement: Dr. Harmer has chosen to maintain an outwardly humble practice in the working class town of Carteret instead of some plush suite in the well-to-do suburbs. I really admire that as I'm sure do his other local patients.

Went for an exam and they where training a person on the eye equipment during my exam which I thought was odd. Don't they learn that in school before you become an eye doctor? Poor selection of glasses. Made an appointment with Dr SanSantamaria Eye Center in Menlo Park. Love the doctors and staff there.
