“So I ran in today with a horribly swollen helix piercing from a janky tattoo place in North Jersey. Sophie hooked me UP!!! She took such good care of my really bad piercing, and set me up for success. All the good things I’m sure you’ve heard about Convent are totally accurate!!! She gave me a piercing aftercare sheet, and incredible advice. The studio is awesome - totally haunted (I got to see some cool ghost activity!!). “I've been to see Paula for piercings twice now, and I adore her. She is incredibly professional, very patient, and very personable. I will always return to her for future piercings.

I had her do a second lobe piercing on one ear, she reopened my first lobe piercings on both ears, and has done a conch for me in one ear. I've attempted to have a conch done twice before in the past, both times resulting in large piercing bumps, irritation, and healing so poorly they had to be removed. It's been about 2.5 months since she pierced it this time (and changed the placement from where it was previously for better healing), and I have had no issues. I've never had piercings heal as well as when I've had her do them. I'm also a little spontaneous when I decide I want a piercing, and she's been able to accommodate my impulsive timing each time!

“There is not a single tattoo artist here that I wouldn't recommend. I got a beautiful tattoo by Kate Collins and it was the most pleasant experience I've ever had getting tattooed.

The place is beautiful (it's in an old church complete with stained glass windows!) and filled with great art books for inspiration. Fun and interesting conversations with the artists (and even some clients) flow freely around the space.

“30 years ago, I walked into this shop as an 18 year old that just got out of Boot Camp. I had been stationed at the Philadelphia Navy Ship Yard, and my first night out on my own…. I found Philadelphia Eddies. After hanging out with a few of the artists and customers for a couple of hours I made an appointment with Chris Henry, who the very next day gave me my first tattoo.

In my time in the Navy stationed in Philadelphia, I got 3 tattoos from Philadelphia Eddies.

Last week I made it back to Philadelphia for the first time since I was stationed there. While I was excited about going to Eddies to get some ink, I was nervous about it because I knew it would be completely different people than I knew 30 years ago. I called both locations on 4th street, and I was really disappointed with the response that I got from the other shop a few doors down that flys the Philadelphia Eddies flag, they were short, and seemed put out to even talk to me about what I wanted done, like they just didn’t care.

I decided to stop into this shop just to reminisce a little. There we were meet by Kelly, who was AWESOME. She took the time to hear my stories about my history in the shop, and was absolutely interested in our business. She introduced us to Jason, who did a new tattoo for me. We were so impressed with these two that my Girlfriend had Jason do one for her too.
