“I had a good experience here. They were short staffed, with only the hairdresser acting as his main capacity and telephone answerer and cashier, so it slowed the process. I had to wait after my appointment, but when it was my turn, I got great service and a great haircut. There are no posted prices, so I think they are a bit decided on the spot, but it's worth getting all that information before starting. Overall I was satisfied with my experience, but I hope they are able to take on more staff to make the process go along smoother. There is street parking available.“

“I love my braider Melissa!! She’s so sweet and genuine, with real conversations, not forced. If you’re not a talker, like I enjoy silence sometimes, that happens too.

Now let’s get into these braids. I got medium, knotless waist length braids. I love them. As someone who is tender headed, knotless is the only small braid style that is easy on scalp for me, but Melissa makes it even gentler, if you ask. They’re still neat and I won’t slip. She consults with you prior to start braiding. Did I mention how fast she is? Whew, I was in and out, quicker than we estimated.

Booking is super easy. You can do it online and most styles are clearly listed with prices and descriptions. Even the type and color hair you want because she supplies it. The shop is clean.

I will definitely be going back to Melissa to scalp wash with braids and for her other natural hair care services she offers.

“I have been going to Curlective for about 7 months now. I decided I was ready to cut it all off and start fresh, I had already been natural for 7 years but I wasn’t taking care of my hair. It needed love. I met Casey-Maia she advised me that I didn’t need to do that. Just be patient and trust the process. Which I did. And it has grown exponentially, and I can finally be proud of my natural coils for the summer! I went to Zee to do my color, and she nailed the color I had in mind, since then. I have gone back to Casey for my my wash and go which is super legit and I can flaunt happily at Curlfest this year ?
