We had an older Heatmaker combination unit boiler that was 32 years old that needed to be replaced. We started out with several estimates and first decided what could be used in our space constrained garage. We decided on a Navien combination unit and focused a obtained a couple more estimates. Dawson in fact was one of the last estimates we obtained. While Dave from Dawson had the benefit of us being well along the learning curve, he was able to answer all of our questions about the new unit and how best to solve the condensate dilemma. Dawson Mechanical was instrumental in my successful switch from oil to gas heat when they installed Navien combi units in my home. The install was executed flawlessly and the cost per value for the product and service was reasonable.Dave and his staff Wanda, Randy and William were knowledgeable and professional. Dave walks you through the process step by step and was accommodating to answer my numerous questions.When the inspectors came on two different occasions they both asked who did this job because they said you don't see craftsmanship like this anymore. Just before Christmas 2022 our furnace started venting steam out the chimney. We called Dawson (who converted our furnace to gas) and they came out two days before Christmas and replaced the entire unit. Dave even called me on Christmas Day to check if it was working! However, when I got home we noticed water on the floor. A small crack had developed in the close to 100 year old cast iron return pipe. Matt came out a few days later and replaced the entire return system with all copper pipe and it works like a charm and looks good too.We have been planning a renovation for the past few months (kitchen and bathroom).
