Of course the views are legendary, and there is still some charm available if you look for it. Wonderful landscapes, surrounded by the white mountains including the superlatives of surrounding Mount Washington range. Pictures attached show this.
Unfortunately, when we went to our room after check-in, there was a massive pile of dishes outside our room door from the prev. night. We had to ask to have them removed. Before we checked in we asked if there was a place to lock our bikes for the day until the room was ready, and there was not a safe, indoor place available "until the next day". We were very impressed with every aspect of our visit. The staff was great as we're the grounds and our room. We didn't want to leave and will definitely be back.
Rooms: Our room was spotless. We found the beds very comfortable.
We didn't stay we basically stopped off for lunch. It's been pretty obvious in the year and a half it's been since we've been there they've done a lot of work the flooring is all new they've got all new furniture definitely the new owners are making an effort to do a little bit of restoration.
Rooms: Remember the rooms have been combined to make larger rooms and suites. Overall they've been very well refurbished over the years. Most recently they've been putting a lot of new furniture and bedding in a lot of the rooms they've done a lot of replacement of the siding and some of the rot that was under the siding.... read full review
