“Had an appointment with Amanda today for a cut and could not be more impressed! From start to finish, she did an amazing job- I came in with an inspiration picture and wanted to take quite a bit of length off (~6 inches), blended layers, and face framing pieces. Amanda went through every aspect of what I was looking for and what my expectations were. She asked specific questions to narrow down my vision, and perfectly executed what I was looking for. I had never had someone dry cut my hair, and it was totally life changing. Her attention to detail is spot on, and she's such a pleasure to talk to! Can't say enough about her work and her beautiful salon- she gave me the best cut I've ever had! 10/10 experience all around :)“

“I've known Amanda for years and when my stylist of 10 years had some life changes and could no longer accommodate my evening scheduling needs - I knew immediately where to reach out. I booked with Gina (with guidance from Amanda's husband) who is so sweet and kind! She asked so many questions, as my hair is very curly (3C/4C for those in the biz) and I have had an undercut for years to maintain the curl without the bulk. Gina did the standard stylist tousling and checking the layers, lines, cut and shape. She really listened to me and I think we have the start of a lovely, long-term client/stylist/salon relationship. It's not just a salon. Salt was built around a joy and love of what they do and you can see it in every detail in the place. They CARE about their clients and I have no doubt they'll be as permanent in Portsmouth as the salt piles across the way.

Jessica Szopa worked miracles on my hair with a deep conditioning treatment and acidic glaze to seal my hair cuticle. Afterwards, she trimmed my hair and layered it to blend the breakage AND used a split end mender. My hair is no longer breaking, feels smooth, and looks great! The apprentices that washed and dried my hair were super gentle and great too!“

She’s done amazing vivid reds on me before and everything in between and it always comes out great. My boyfriend is also extremely picky and conscientious about haircuts.
