I had cut and roots done by Nancy. I had moved from NY and needed a cut and color before a wedding. I really liked the ease and convenience of the cut. I am a 70-something with fine and now thinning hair, so cutting it well is not easy. Nancy did great! Collarbone length. The color was spot on. Also, as it turns out, she has Bear Island roots, and she knew all my neighbors. Best, because of her lake background, she really gets what the weather, wind, sun, and water can do to your hair. In fact, as she told me, "Lake hair don't care."

This place is the best! I only strayed from them once because I couldn’t get a quick drop in appointment after trying to reschedule my cancellation. I won’t make that mistake again. Nancy is awesome and the price is so reasonable compared to other high end salons in the area. I was so disappointed with my second choice salon: they left dye on my skin and told me they couldn’t cover my grays in one appointment. I gave them a second chance and I still left feeling duped and overcharged. Very weird experience. Thankfully, I went back to Refuge for Healthy Hair and left feeling like a million bucks.
