Hello my husband passed away yesterday in VA Hospital Omaha, Nebr after a hard sickness and I just wanted to thank you all for your kind service of him and all my family. You made this hard time so much easier especially for my 5 sons in letting their father go. Ralph was a proud Navy Veteran always honored to serve his country. The nurses and doctors taking care of him did a wonderous job of making him comfortable to the end and I am so very grateful he did not suffer longer. My heartfelt thanks and know that he is in a better place with no more struggles this world can give. He now walks in the garden with our Lord and rejoices in seeing those family, friends that have gone before. Again thank you and God Bless VA
I use the VA for 99% of my care. I can get care in a timely manner regardless if it is with my Primary Care Provider or with someone else. They have an ER at this location which is open 24 hours M-F. They also have an Express Care Clinic which is open in the afternoons to about 2100 hours M-F. Then the same clinic is open on Saturdays from like 0800 or 0900 to maybe 1400. They also have a Silver Clinic/Same Day clinic that is open 0800-1600 M-F but your Primary Care Team can only schedule you into that clinic if they cannot see you right away. Lastly they have a Triage Nurse Care Line that is open locally from 0700-1900 and then it goes to another call center clinic after 1900 or on/during holidays and weekends. The local triage nurse care line has nurses, pharmacy technicians to speak with so they can reorder meds, and a APRN/NP assigned to them. The Nurse Practitioner will treat you over the phone in a timely manner. This hospital is for VETERANS ONLY!
The Omaha VA has treated my wife and myself better then any private medical facility or office in the whole of Eastern Nebraska. They aren't perfect, they are made up of people and where there are people screw ups happen. They've so far admitted and corrected any errors we have found. Finally, my primary Dr and his RN are awesome!
