I first used Chris and Sons for holiday lighting services in 2018. Beyond the initial installation, communication, and follow through were sorely lacking, but the excuses were abundant. In 2022, despite paying for installation on October 9th, I went without lights. On December 5th, I reached out to ask that the $390 I'd paid for 2022 be applied to 2023. The lights went up in 2023. This year, I reached out October 18th and was told I was on the schedule for the following week. On Nov 1, I reached out to let him know we'd be in and out that weekend but that we'd left the lights outside. His response was, "I'll be there!" November 12th, I asked if he'd be able to get the lights up that week and was told that, yes, I was scheduled to be completed by the end of the week. November 17th, at 1:32 p.m., I told him I was hoping to see him yet today. He said, "Awesome, thanks. I'm finishing a couple and will head over. If not, tonight then tomorrow morning after my meeting." November 18th, I messaged at 1pm to check in since we were beyond the quoted time frame again. He said he was aware of the situation and that the only thing he could guarantee was that they would be installed as soon as possible. I responded with the information I provided above and told him that if they weren't installed that day, I'd seek a refund through my credit card company. His response to me asks why I feel like I'm special, that I'm free to find another company, that I'd be doing him a favor and that he would "rather not deal with women like me." Women like what? That expect either follow through, or some sort of communication that they won't be able to do what they said, instead of being lied to and left hanging over and over? Chris failed to EVER reach out to let me know he wouldn't be coming, or needed to push it back. The only communication received, aside from one time when he tried to sell me additional products, was initiated by myself, and like the woman that posted about her yard, I have messages going back years to support that.
Terrible customer service. If you have the audacity to text him after 5:00 pm after not hearing from him for more than a week after submitting payment in advance to find out when he plans to fertilize your lawn so you can get it mowed he'll chew you out. It was 7 pm and he could have just replied the next day. When I expressed disappointment with his response, he responded with "I don't need your money I don't want customers like you." He no longer has my business and I've discouraged others from hiring him.
Very disappointed with this company. It was very difficult to get ahold of them. Then they would set up a time and never show up. The last time they didn't even bother to let me know or to reschedule with me. If your that busy then just say so. That way I can move on and find someone else.Funny you want to say that it was the weekend when you told me that you would be here Friday, then YOU asked to reschedule to Saturday. I was completely understanding. All you had to do is let me know that it was a bad time and we could have worked something out.
