“About 2 years ago, I decided to get my hair cut ultra short. The first short hair cut my hairstylist of many years gave me was an excellent cut. After that, she was not able to give me a pixie cut that worked with my fine, thin hair. I stayed with her for about 2 years complaining about the cut. After that I went to 2 salons in Clemmons to try to get a good cut. They were terrible... I then read reviews for Mark Mattox at Champney & Company and decided to try him. He is awesome! I thought it would take a couple of cuts for him to fix my bad haircut, but he fixed it the first t time. I was hoping for a good cut, but what I got was a great cut. Not only did I get the best short haircut I've ever had, but he is a delight. He is easy to talk to and he gives styling tips for my short, fine hair. My original stylist is great with longer haircuts and color, but she just was not able to give me a good short haircut. Mark gets my highest recommendation! I wish I could give him more than 5 stars.“

“I came to Grassroots (crying) after another salon botched up a haircut. They cut it uneven and too short. This was a few years ago and my stylist performed an absolute MIRACLE! She has since left (I do not remember her name!) but I have continued to return. I have since had my hair done several times with Audra (who I absolutely love as well!) I have since moved from Winston because of the high rent and how dangerous the city has become, but Grassroots is a salon that I wish I could give a higher review because it's going to be so hard to match their level of expertise and professionalism. The salon is very clean, void of declutter. The staff - stylists and receptionist are extremely professional. The work is top tier and I have always left better than when I came in. Every single appointment I have had at Grassroots, I felt like I was listened to and both stylists completely knew EXACTLY what I was talking about. I brought in an old photo of myself from high school and Audra matched my hair color perfectly! As a client I felt 110% taken care of and respected.
