Custom Paving is terrific. They are fair and reasonable and do very good work. Barry the owner is very personable and is on top of taking care of his customers. His sons JJ and Joe are an integral part of the paving operations. The fruit does not fall from the tree. I found this company to be very dependable and they are proud of the paving work they do, and they should be. I highly recommend them.
I don't think there's enough space for me to write enough GREAT things I would like to write about Benchmark Builders. I have never built a new home before, and I also did not have a giant budget. I am not experienced in the homebuilding process, either! I bought my lot a year or two prior to building, and Benchmark was one of the first builders I called to ask about the possibilities of building on this lot, before I even bought it. Sharon offered to take a drive over and look at it after work that day, and contacted me to let me know it looked like a good location. When I was ready to build, they were ready to start! They helped me through the process of gathering budget information for my construction loan, and went over and above from a planning standpoint to assist me in ensuring that my house would fit on my small lot -- along with a septic system. They pulled in some big favors as well, to help execute a new survey quickly.
Once building started, I was amazed at how seamlessly the process flowed. Benchmark Builders knows this business very well, and they knew how to orchestrate dozens of moving parts to accommodate changes in my plans, changes in the weather, and they also adapted well to changes in budget as needed. I always felt like I could change things if I needed to, without repercussion, and they were straightforward with additional costs or savings at any time. Nobody can predict exact cost on any build, especially with such a fluctuating market, but they did their best, and this is partly where their immense experience showed through.
They made excellent recommendations about the build from start to end, and offered ideas that would assist me in saving money long-term, including 2 x 6 wall construction which would accommodate better insulation, the grading of the house location, and foundation planning, to allow for a bit more headspace in the crawlspace, as well as other things that you just don't think about if you're not familiar with building a house from scratch. Whenever we encountered problems with something on my plans or with a material source, they had solutions ready for me to consider.
Benchmark has an exceptional array of resources, from the teams they utilize for the labor, to the local providers (lumber, flooring, kitchen cabinetry and countertops, etc.) who could best outfit me with everything I needed for this build. I felt secure in contacting anyone they recommended, and in the products and services that were delivered.
The build was completed early, partly because I was pretty disciplined about not spending extra money or altering decisions that would impact the timeline --but also because of the well-oiled machine that is the Benchmark planning and implementation process. Everything stayed pretty well on track (even with the usual weather issues and unpredictability that comes with building), and they delivered on everything that I was promised in this home.
After moving in, there were a few minor glitches with plumbing and a minor washing machine hookup issue, but they were fixed immediately and with priority attention by Benchmark. It is very clear to me that they stand behind their work, and their strong relationships with their service partners provide huge benefits to hiring Benchmark for a new build. Even six months later, when I was concerned about something with the air conditioner, they responded immediately and connected me with the air conditioning folks, who worked with me to remedy the issue.
The one thing that is hard to quantify, but I feel is so important, is the human side of things. Working with the family that runs Benchmark felt very personal, yet professional. There is a great deal of respect and care given to everything that they do, and in their interactions with each other and with me. There was a little bit of a wait after my scheduled appointment time, but the overall experience made up for it in the end, aided by the fact that I had enough time for the extra wait. The entire staff there was very polite and friendly. My nurse Christina was super pleasant, very efficient and thorough. Unfortunately I have to wait 2 years until I return (unless an unforseen circumstance arises), but I will definitely return and hopefully Christina is still practicing here. My haircut was exactly as I wanted it. Erin is so sweet and personable. I have tried other salons who did not really listen to me and did what they thought was best. I can very safely say that Erin at Victorias Hair Studio treated me with respect and gave me the exact cut I have been wanting!! I cannot recommend her enough! It's difficult to find a stylist who can do alternative cuts, but Erin is up for the challenge and knows exactly what she's doing. If you have needs for a goth or alternative haircut please give her a try! I can't wait to see what my hair does when it's dry.

This place is awesome. I called around every plumber in an emergency late on a Friday afternoon, as water was pouring into my basement, this was the only place who answered. The lady I spoke to directed me on how to find the shutoff near the street. This will be the place I call for any plumbing work in the future.

Staff were very nice and professional. However, I had a ceiling light installed. I asked that the electrical line be attached as close to the ceiling beam as possible. I said I wanted to put a wood strip over the electric wire to hide it. When job completed the wire was about4 to 5 inches from the beam and the wire had a metal covering. I called back and Shannon told me he remembered me mentioning the wood strip. He said they would return and make it right. They did return and removed the metal strip and the wiring and replaced it with new wiring. A hole was drilled in the ceiling and the wire was run thru the hole and wired to a receptacle. I was charged $938.00 for the two service calls. With cost of the fixture and installation it cost me over $1,100.00 to have a light in my living room. Too much for a light?

Chris at A1 was top of the line! Thought we needed a new refrigerator, he looked at it and said 100$ part will fix it... and it did. When part arrived, he scheduled a time to do the 10 min. Install of the part! Working like a charm since then! Thanks Chris.
The tech that came to our home was great. He explained everything but we had to wait 2 weeks for the parts for the dryer and then they rescheduled for 4 more days. Great tech but way to long to wait to get it fixed. Giving a 4 star for the tech only.
I called to ask for my key pad to be serviced, since it would not engage, even though it “had power”. Over the phone, he informed me that even though it was lighting up, it was most likely just a dead battery and he would hate to charge a service call. A $5 battery later and it works like a charm. He could have very easily sold me a $65 service call. Honesty goes a long way in my eyes. They will definitely be my locksmith for any services needed.

It is an old house with some quirks, and we feel comfortable knowing that she maintains it both for our family visits four times a year and our short term rental guests. These guys are fantastic! We had a very tall large treetop fall and destroy a section of fencing. When we called for an estimate they were here in less than half an hour. Gave us a fair estimate and were able to come back the next morning and clean everything up in less than an hour. We highly recommend them and will be using them for all our tree needs going forward.

I want to take a moment to share how much I appreciate every single person I have spoke to and delt with at this office. Every interaction I had with *every* staff member (receptionist, hygienist, assistant, and doctor alike) were all extremely pleasant. I have pretty severe anxiety, especially concerning medical offices, and everyone at JFD did an absolutely phenomenal job of making my visits there as easy going as possible while also addressing all of my concerns no matter how silly.
I had an more unusual dental situation that needed addressing and I feel that JFD got me fixed up quickly, efficiently, and at a very reasonable cost. I really appreciate that they were more than willing to work with me to ensure I got in quickly and make sure my fittings were comfortable and my bite was correct- especially when I alerted them to some sensory issues I was having. The staff was always patient, warm, kind, professional, and I never once felt judged or shamed for my (admittedly) infrequent dental visits, cleanings, and overall care over the years.
Prior to JFD I had had some rather unpleasant dental office experiences that really made me avoid going to a dentist unless I absolutely had to... but I can genuinely say that after getting a cleaning, fillings, and a crown placement here, I wish I had known about JFD sooner. I might have been more inclined to better care for my teeth (as I plan to going forward) if I had known it could be as easy and minimally stressful as they have made it for me.
I can't thank you guys enough for helping me overcome my anxieties, care for my smile, and for having a great attitude towards your patients. ♡

Only giving 4 stars right now because I am still very hesitant. Today my boys had an appointment for the first time in a while. Our past experiences here had turned me away. Decided to give them another try and I will say I was very pleased with the difference. The staff was much friendlier and Misty did an amazing job explaining everything to me. She did the leg work to finally get my boys set up for dental surgeries they have been needing. Chase was also very friendly and gave me more control over how to go about my older son’s treatment. I’m still weary because I would hate to see them start going back to how it used to be.
Dr. Todd is amazing! He's a great person, have been going to him for several years now...he has an ability to quickly diagnose my issues, and never fails to help me to feel better when I walk out. Very blessed to have found him!
Dr Zeke is truly a genius in his field. He has fixed numerous issues and ailments when no one else was able to! 1000% recommend for any complex or simple issues!

My fur baby, Brewster was sick for 2.5 days vomiting and bad poops. We were able to get an appointment at 4:00 pm Thursday, October 10th. After Dr. Hammet took his temperature and blood sample she diagnosis Gastro enteritis, dietary indiscretion. She did a though exam. See photo. She said Brewster has the best mommies. Sent us home with special canned diet food. Also, hydrated him under the skin and administered Cerenia to stop nausea and vomiting.
Balsam Animal Hospital has always been fantastic with/to our pets, treating them with love and giving them a lot of attention. Couldn't ask for better care!
Honestly the assistant tried charging for unnecessary things but the vet actually told her there was no use for fecal exam etc. bc he was prescribing interceptor witch takes care of everything. Went from over 250 to about 110. I was very happy with his treatment of my pup.
Dr. Olinde is absolutely amazing. Not only is she extremely knowledgeable but she is also very personable and provides excellent care. We had a surprise complicated visit recently and Dr. Olinde provided me with education during the visit, called me with my cat’s lab results, and emailed me with a detailed care plan moving forward. We just had our first follow up visit and Dr. Olinde was spot on with her treatment plan. I cannot brag enough on her medical knowledge as well as her personality. If there were more stars, she’d get them!
Also, the staff is extremely friendly! The scheduling is the easiest of anywhere I’ve seen - you can call or book online. Best of both worlds. Another note - we don’t come here just because it’s close to our house…. I drive a solid 40 minutes because it’s worth it for regular vet needs!

DJ and Ashley are the principal therapists and owners of family run Somatic Healing. Both my husband and I booked sessions with DJ because of our schedules. As a former professional athlete I've had 100's of deep tissue massages and DJ ranks at the top! He is well versed in the structure and musculature of the body and his instincts and techniques addressed my issues perfectly. He can literally "see with his hands" noting where the tension is located and easing it without any guidance from me. I personally am always interested in how the muscles attach and fan out to joints in the body and DJ offered excellent explanations that helped me understand what was going on and why an area might be impacted even though it wasn't the location of my discomfort. He is a true asset in our town of Waynesville and I'm thrilled to have found truly effective treatment in massage and beyond. Their scope of services is broader than massage and definitely worth exploring. Don't hesitate to book an appointment here! Even my husband who is a massage newbie was impressed (and greatly improved) with the treatment he received for shoulder weakness and pain. We've already booked our next appointment and are putting visits to Somatic on our monthly calendar. Go! You're going to love it!
