I took Chuck’s beginner and intermediate photography courses at Mitchell Community College in Statesville at the beginning of this year. I knew nothing about my camera besides shooting in auto mode, which was often a hit or miss with focus for me that ruined so many potentially great photos. I took his class in hopes to learn my camera a little better, so I could take nice photos of my family and capture those special moments in time I wanted to freeze with a high quality image. I also wanted to take up photography as a hobby with keeping the idea open of it potentially becoming something more. Chuck is an amazing instructor, very patient, and is full of knowledge and advice. He is always willing to go above and beyond no matter what the situation may be. I can proudly say that I opened my photography business in September of this year, and I recently started to venture into doing indoor studio work. I reached out to him to seek help when I decided to take on an indoor photography project recently. Without hesitation, he helped me come up with a budget friendly lighting system and answered any questions I had. Trust me when I say I had a lot of them! I also went to him for a private lesson on studio lighting, which was exactly what I needed to excel in this aspect of photography. He researched my brand of equipment, showed me step by step on how to setup, and helped me address any concerns of mine. I can say with confidence that I am now comfortable using manual mode on my camera and am also comfortable to take on indoor studio work all in thanks to his expertise and willingness to help me. It is very evident that Chuck has a passion for photography and helping others along their journey. I highly recommend you take his courses or reach out to him for private lessons. You won’t regret it! Thanks again, Chuck, for all you have done to help me get where I am and for believing in my skill and talent. I am forever grateful for everything you have taught me, for all your encouraging words, and for all the knowledge you have shared.

Chuck is an excellent instructor and especially patient with beginners like me. He has also photographed my watercolor paintings for giclees, publications, and exhibitions with great results. Thanks for sharing your skill, Chuck!
