“I don’t live in this area, I was driving through to TN with my two dogs when I spotted a turtle that has been hit by a car on the highway. The turtle had obvious signs of being fatally wounded, but sadly was very much alive still. I went to three vets to beg for help euthanizing the sad, suffering little guy. I was turned away from them all with no guidance on what to do next. By the time I got to Lake country, I was an emotional mess, and not only was I and this suffering turtle treated with understanding and compassion, they took him in free of charge for euthanasia (despite their policy of not taking in turtles for vet care). I am forever grateful for the staff here and the vet who was compassionate enough to help end the suffering of this very deserving special creature. ? ?“
