I spent two and a half years at Red Sun. I truly enjoyed my time there. The sensei is extremely knowledgeable and everyone training there was kind and very friendly. The atmosphere was relaxed and welcoming. It’s a very solid style that will help you learn martial arts, if you’re a beginner or experienced.If you’re looking for a nice atmosphere to try martial arts, or you want to expand your knowledge, then I truly can’t recommend Red Sun Academy enough.

My wife and I started classes at Red Sun Academy approximately 9 months ago. It has been a very positive experience! The sensei is a highly skilled teacher who is dedicated to helping her students develop. She is assisted by a few senior members who willingly share their knowledge and experience. Students range in age from 9 to 70+. Classes are challenging and fun and designed to allow students to progress at our own pace. The learning environment is a very positive one in which everyone is supportive and encouraging of one another. Redsun Academy is a great dojo to join if you have children and would like to participate with them. Sensei Amy and the students here create a positive environment where you will learn the correct methods and skills that will benefit you and your childs physical and mental growth in the Martial Arts. Unlike past dojo's I have attended where the focus was on attaining the next belt and making a profit, the focus at Redsun Academy is to challenge each individual student to reach their full potential.

Our style is JO KWON CHI, which is a unique style that combines 7 traditional styles: Shotokan, karate, the science of Tae Kwon Do (before it became commercialized), Sayokan, a Turkish martial art, and utilizing deflection and internal energy from Tai Chi. Our academy emphasizes real street self-defense without the flash. We are not so-much sport-oriented (we used to do the tournament thing, but not so much any more), and we emphasize physical fitness and strength of character. We're a close-knit group, like a family. Wonderful student-body. We have fun training. It's only $5/class for the first month. Come join us!
