“The best, most professional and friendly urgent care you'll ever meet!! Who knew that breaking my foot would lead me to now knowing the best place in Carteret County to go with any minor to moderate medical problems? This was my story starting mid-February, and you can see for yourself how this place is just the absolute best:After being sent on a wild goose chase by Med First in Emerald Isle (which says it does walk-ins but does not consider broken bones urgent enough to get on the list, especially during lunch break--which was not posted online: take that as you will), another place down the road sent us back towards Carolinas Urgent and Primary. Having learned from just before, I called ahead while my mother drove (again: a very broken foot), and from the get go they were the absolute best! The kind front office staff assured me they could do walk-in xrays that day, just head over any time before 4pm when their xray technician had to leave. Remember that this isn't a big city, sometimes people are going to be out-of-office (regarding the very few mixed reviews). The moment we got there I was hopping up to enter the building with my mother's help, and the staff immediately noticed and offered me a wheelchair to borrow, which was so kind: the place is wheelchair-accessible although currently the ramp is at the other end of the strip. After signing in at the tidy and sympathetic front desk, we wheeled over for a short/efficient wait during which the other waiting patient in the waiting room smiled and assured me I was in good hands: she was actually there for a PCP appointment, since they do that too, and she said they're better than anyone else in the area! I found this to be true! The technician took my xrays and actually even spotted the break immediately, which can be hard to do for this type of break, I learned later from my out-of-State podiatrist who is a surgeon (spiral avulsion 5th metatarsal upon review)! She didn't diagnose anything and told me that she wasn't diagnosing. She was extremely validating and supportive through the xrays. I then saw the doctor to get her advice, she took all the time I needed for questions. I have anxiety and yet I felt very comfortable with all staff members. They also got me fitted for crutches and the person who taught me how to use crutches for the first time was very patient and nice!I needed the xrays on disc for my podiatrist later, but the technician was then out-of-office by the time I knew, and the macine was having issues for the office staff unfortunately, but they were in regular communication with me and my mother over the next week about their attempts to transfer the data. They were able to put in the necessary referrals, though, and then we ended up actually going back and taking pictures of the xrays with their help to get the right details: the pictures were exactly what was needed to help the podiatrist figure out what I needed to do, and given my preexisting situations too, he recommended a walking pneumatic boot. But then we couldn't find one, and amazon takes forever around here! I called multiple places, and finally found one that had one; but when we dropped by Carolinas Urgent and Primary on our way there, they told us that they might have one in my size, and since a podiatrist had said in writing that it was needed, insurance might help + safety wasn't risky--don't want to immobilize your ankle too long unless you need to, after all!The doctor that day also made himself available to look at my xrays too, just to be sure that this boot was the right medical choice, and signed off on it--when I showed my podiatrist the boot that Carolinas Urgent gave me, he said it was absolutely perfect, the exact thing he wanted me to get to heal my foot! This all started February 16 2024, and my foot is still on the road to recovery 2 months later, healing in the correct way and without any complications, thanks to the phenomenal, thoughtful, above-and-beyond care of the entire team at Carolinas Urgent and Primary! :) Thank you all“
“The staff is remarkable. Always know how to assist you with your needs. Love my doctor, he always makes sure my needs are met and is concerned with any of my issues.“
