My friend and I went here yesterday 11/10/2021 for full acrylic sets. When we walked into the door, the older woman was sitting at the nail table eating boiled peanuts. She told me to pick my color and sit down and placed my friend beside of me.I sat down and she started.. never washed her hands after eating.I told her I wanted almond shaped. $5 extra. (Which is fine but this is not almond shaped this looks like pistachio shells on my fingers.)*the messed up paint is my fault because I didn’t let them fully dry but the shape is way off from what I wanted and she GLOBBED top coat on. I had to scrape it off of my fingers after I left.My friend had the older gentleman, he...read full review
I have had gel nails twice here. They looked good but did not last two weeks as they have at other places. Also had my toenails painted as i have done many places. They always cut back my nails at other places but she charged an extra 5$ this time and they were barely cut . I am not sure i will go back there after this.
I don't live in Lincolnton, but I accompanied my husband here on one of his business trips and decided to get a mani-pedi at Top Nails while he was in a meeting. The choice of polish colors was rather lacking. I often get a color called "bubble bath" that has always been stocked in every other nail salon I have ever visited. It's just a basic pale pink that makes ones nails look clean and almost unpolished. Another woman in there was looking for the same thing. The owner was rather impatient and just wanted us to choose something he had, which I did. The woman who actually did my pedicure seemed very sweet, spoke absolutely no English, and behaved uncertainly, as though she had not done pedicures before, or at least not many. There was no massage. My mind wandered to the topic of licensure, how could she be so uncertain if she had studied for this field and passed an exam? There were no licenses posted anywhere. Perhaps this is not a North Carolina requirement? It is in my state. The owner did the manicure, again no massage. I also saw no evidence of instrument sterilization. When asked to wash my hands in the sink at the back, there was a pile of instruments on a tray that looked as if they might have been washed off at the sink. I'm wondering what the results would be if state officials decided to check on these places for compliance? My overall impression was one of impatient and uncaring service. The day I was there the credit card machine was broken and each person was told they needed to pay in cash. Luckily, I was able to do this but there were several customers who had to scramble. Another small thing, the owner shared my tip with the woman who performed the pedicure, but divided it 50-50 even though her procedure was lengthier and cost more. The owner did say he would see me next time. Probably not.
